Man spent over $2,000 on app promising unlimited private jet flights to see if it's a scam

The YouTuber struggled to get a spot on a plane

A man spent over $2000 on an app which promised unlimited private jet flights just to see if it was fake.

Documenting the experiment for his YouTube channel, the man decided to drop some serious cash on an app to find out if it was all a scam.

The man in question, Noel Philips, downloaded an app called Vaunt which claimed to offer unlimited flights on luxury private jets.

Buying a year’s membership for $1000, the YouTuber set about trying to book a flight.

Attempting to book onto a plane, he revealed that he was put on a ‘wait list’.

Philips said: “Wait list priorities are determined by the following factors, how long you've been a Vaunt member, how long it's been since your last Vaunt flight, opting into carbon credits, friend reverse referrals or sharing Vaunt on social media.”

He went on to say: “If I pay them another $995 I can get a priority. I'm not going to pay another $995.”

After having no luck with booking onto other flights, Philips caves and forks out another $1000 to get priority.

Philips added: “It's cost me another $995 to get to number one on the wait list, I still don't have a flight, the flight is tomorrow.

“This flight apparently is tomorrow, I kind of need to know soon because obviously I need to make other flight arrangements.

“I'm two grand in and still don't have a flight.”

Luckily, he finally receives confirmation that he’s got a seat on the plane, this one heading for Nashville.

However, he needed to cough up another $500 as a security deposit.

Still, the YouTuber was in high spirits as he made his way to the airport the next day - just before all his hopes came crashing down.

He said: “I've just had an email from them to say that unfortunately the flight has been canceled because the aircraft is no longer available so now we've got to get an Uber back home again.”

Despite the failure, and after months of waiting, Philips finally managed to snag a seat aboard a private jet.

The flight would take him from Houston Hobby Airport all the way to George Bush International Airport, which is also in Houston.

The entire journey takes just four minutes from take off to landing.

Still, Philips was determined to make his efforts prove fruitful, boarding the tiny four seater jet.

Taking his seat, the YouTuber said: “There's a little bar area up there, apparently they've got drinks loaded in there, not that we're going to be getting many drinks on a four minute flight.”

Viewers took to the comment section to share their own thoughts on the expensive flight.

One user wrote: “Noel going brilliantly through all the stages of British anger - from ‘a bit fed up’ to ‘really quite annoyed’.”

And another added: “Been watching you for years, that's the first video that's longer than the flight itself.”
