Spotify has issued an urgent warning to its users ahead of Spotify Wrapped 2024.
As you’re probably well aware - Spotify is gearing up for the annual roll-out of Wrapped.
If you’re not familiar, the music app puts out an end-of-year round-up of users’ top songs and artists that they’ve listened to over the year.

The event gives us all a chance to look back and cringe at the music we’ve played on repeat over the last 12 months.
The exact date of the Wrapped release is currently, well, under wraps but in previous years it has been made available at the end of November.
However, if you want to get all the stats and info on your music choices this year, then you’ll need to make sure your Spotify account is ready.

This is because the firm has issued out a warning to its users ahead of the event.
If you’ve got an account with the streaming service, you will likely receive a notification soon that says: “2024 is almost a wrap.”
It goes on to warn: “Don’t miss your chance to discover your top songs & artists of the year. Update the app to get Wrapped-ready.”
If you want to make sure that your device will let you take part in Wrapped, you’ll need to make sure that the app is up to date.
How do you update Spotify?
It’s simple to update - the notification about Wrapped will come with an ‘update now’ button.

If you press on it, it’ll take you to your device’s store for its applications.
That’ll be the App store for Apple users and the Play store for Android fans.
However, if you haven’t received the notification or if you’ve clicked off it, then fear not, there are other ways to make sure your app is up to date.

All you have to do is go to your phone’s application store manually and search for Spotify.
Once done, you should be able to see the app and an option to update.
This will ensure that you have the latest version of Spotify before this year’s Wrapped is dropped.
But what will happen if you don’t update?
There are a few reasons why you might not want to update your app, the main being a lack of storage space on your phone.

Updating can take up a bit more room and when you’ve not got any, you might opt to make do with older versions of the apps.
Spotify hasn’t specified what will happen - or won’t happen - if you don’t update in time for Wrapped.
But you run the risk of not getting the full experience if you don’t update your app soon.
