Our macrodata has been refined, the goats have been fed their milk, and it's time to tuck into the melon bar because Severance season 2 has just come to an end. While fans of the series were dismayed that they had to wait nearly three years to get a payoff from season 1's "she's alive cliffhanger," many think it was well worth the wait.
Giving us an extended run of 10 episodes instead of season 1's nine, Apple treated us when we went down in the elevator for another retrofuturistic nightmare.
It's fair to say that Severance’s sophomore season was even more wild, giving us goats, eggs, watermelon carvings, and a Keanu Reeves cameo that meant we never really knew what was really going on.

Despite Apple TV+ reportedly hemorrhaging billions, there's some good news coming up from the Severed Floor.

Giving us cause for celebration and a chance to hold our own waffle party, Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed this isn't the end of the road for Severance. Surprising no one, the trippy sci-fi series is coming back for another run of episodes.
Posting eight simple words on X, Cook set the internet alight when he confirmed Severance season 3 and wrote: "Season 3 of Severance is available upon request."

In a statement, executive producer Ben Still joked: "Making ‘Severance’ has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. While I have no memory of this, I’m told making Season 3 will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well."
These sentiments were echoed by lead actor Adam Scott, who added: "I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast and crew, Apple and the whole ‘Severance’ team. Oh hey also — not a huge deal — but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks."
The news comes after Stiller recently teased a potential third person when speaking on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast. When asked if we'd have to wait another three years for new episodes, Stiller promised: "No, no, the plan is not, definitely not. The plan is not, and hopefully we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon. But it will not be that."

In the immediate aftermath of the season 2 finale being the longest episode in the show's run, we can all praise Kier that this isn't the end of the road for Mark S. and Helly R. or the MDR department. As long as we get John Turturro back as Irving, we'll be happy.
While there's no word on when Severance will be back, the presumed lengthy wait gives us plenty of time to plan our trip to the real-life Lumon building.
