There's a sense of irony in Elon Musk trying to crack down on parody and impersonation accounts on X, all while there are more comedians than ever making impressions of him in real life.
The world's richest man continues to be mocked by Saturday Night Live cast members, with Mike Myers recently delivering his take on the tech billionaire.
With Elon Musk being in the news so much, it makes sense that he's a popular target for comedians.

Since stepping up as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk has continued to go viral for wielding chainsaws, wearing wedges of his cheese, and even declaring, "I am become meme."
Despite his newfound fame, Musk has taken aim at Myers' impression of him, while also declaring that SNL hasn't been funny for 'years'.
We assume he's referring to a time after he performed the show's opening monologue in 2021.

Myers isn't the first to try and tackle Musk, with Dana Carvey doing his own impression of the Tesla overlord in 2024.
That went down as well as you can imagine, but speaking on Real Time with Bill Maher, the comedian said he's 'working on' perfecting his impression. Carvey explained: "So, Trump’s there, and he’s got the tie, and then Elon is up there talking, right? And I don’t really do it yet, but I’m working on it."
Practising his Musk mumbles once again, Carvey said: "We got to go to Mars, because we can’t sustain life on planet Earth. We gotta go to Mars, it’s just gonna be really cool, OK? Mhm, mhm, mhm."
He then swapped over to President Donald Trump, doing his own impersonation where he said: "What he said. He’s a smart cookie, he’s a tough cookie, he’s a Cookie Monster. This one, he’s smart. Everybody talks about it. He’s like Chips Ahoy."

Serving like a roster of comedy classics, Carvey ran through Musk, Trump, Joe Biden, RFK Jr., JFK, Johnny Carson, Bill Gates, Gollum, Woody Allen, and Paul McCartney.
Even though he says he's working on his Musk, the comments were full of praise.
One fan cheered: "My Lord I forgot how much this guy is hilarious. Pure Genius."

Another added: "Dana killed it! all the impressions: Musk, Trump, RFK, JFK, Biden, church lady... this was a 15 minute standup set and it was the funniest thing I've seen on Maher in a very long time."
A third said: "Dana Carvey's skill for in the moment improvisation is second to only the great Robin Williams; and Carvey does impressions that are not only on the mark, but hilarious.
Bill Mahar would be wise to have Carvey on his show once a month!"
Still, it seems Carvey isn't happy with this version of Musk just yet.

Carvey's recent comments echo what he told fellow SNL alumni David Spade when talking on his Superfly podcast: "I can’t do Elon Musk very well...But I can do something that sounds not like anything. He has an incredible accent … South Africa via Canada, via Pennsylvania. It’s almost like, it’s a little bit of Australian in there, a little bit of British, but he’s not totally that."
While Carvey keeps working on his musings as Musk, we imagine the man himself won't be too impressed.
