The Joe Rogan Experience has once again been knocked off of its perch at the top of the podcast charts, only this time it's by a new contender that has just two episodes to its name.
It's frankly impossible to ignore Joe Rogan in the podcasting world, as his long-running show has dominated the charts, earning an estimated 11 million listeners per episode that has only grown stronger since signing with Spotify in 2020.
The comedian and UFC commentator's show has brought on a wide variety of high profile guests including Elon Musk, Edward Snowden, Mike Tyson, Bill Burr, and even the current US President Donald Trump - albeit prior to his second stint in the role.

His recent episode with Elon Musk in particular drew a lot of attention, as the tech mogul discussed the future of sex robots, his thoughts on the Biden administration, and other 'delusional' claims.
However, despite earning millions of views in recent weeks, Rogan has been knocked off the top of the charts by a new rival that's only released two episodes so far.

Leading the top of Spotify's podcast charts is 'Good Hang with Amy Poehler' - a new podcast with the famous comedian where she welcomes fellow celebrities to share stories. "This podcast is not about trying to make you better or giving advice," the description details, "Amy just wants to have a good time."

So far there have only been two episodes released - one with long-time collaborator Tina Fey and the other with Martin Short. These have clearly been listened to enough to climb to the top though, and Poehler's existing popularity will most likely allow her to remain in and around the leading spots for the future too.
Surprisingly, Rogan doesn't even make the second spot on the list, as health expert Mel Robbins has claimed that for herself - although she has a lengthy 276 episode list to her name.
While Rogan has consistently remained in the number one spot for years now, this is far from the first time that he's lost his crown momentarily - even to a new podcast on the block.

As reported by SPORTbible, Rogan has previously been dethroned by the aforementioned Robbins, alongside the Shawn Ryan Show - whose host has actually been a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience.
Notably, Rogan also lost his spot to Kylie Kelce when she debuted her podcast last December, and this caused many fans of the former to show their frustration.
It does appear that Spotify in particular weight their chart rankings disproportionately on percentage increases as opposed to simply looking at flat numbers, so this supposedly makes it easier for new shows with high viewership to climb to the top so quickly.
Rogan remains a dominant force on the individual episode charts though, holding the top three spots right now, whereas Poehler's Tina Fey episode currently sits all the way down in 47th, and Robbins highest entry is in 56th.
