Conor McGregor had scathing response after YouTuber Jake Paul challenged him following Tyson Win

Conor McGregor had scathing response after YouTuber Jake Paul challenged him following Tyson Win

The former UFC Champion isn't exactly convinced about fighting the YouTuber

While the world is still recovering from Jake Paul's blockbuster fight with Mike Tyson, he's already moved on to Conor McGregor - who has issued him with a hilarious and scathing response.

Former YouTuber Jake Paul beat retired boxing icon 'Iron' Mike Tyson on Friday, November 15, emerging victorious by unanimous decision.

While many claimed that the fight had been scripted, and some still argued that the result scarily lined up with the 'leaked' pre-fight script, it remained an incredible success financially for both fighters and streaming service Netflix after 60,000,000 households tuned in.

The response at large appears to be that of shame against Paul for celebrating his victory against a 58-year-old - former world champion or not - but that hasn't stopped Paul from moving onto his next target.

It was former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor that Jake Paul challenged directly after his victory against Tyson, stating in a post on X (formerly Twitter):

"Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs. That's never happening. But let's run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won't."

By 'just how it used to be done' Paul is referring to the first ever Ultimate Fighting Championship event in November 1993, which saw fights free of any weight restrictions and rules - 'no holds barred'.

This isn't the first time that the two have clashed, as McGregor's suggestion that the two should meet in a boxing ring in March led Paul to tell him that he should 'get some help'.

It is perhaps odd then that Paul - who is known for fighting almost exclusively on what many deem as 'unfair' terms weighted in his favor - would request to fight McGregor in his 'natural habitat', although the lack of rules and Paul's weight advantage of around 50lbs do once again swing the fight his way ever so slightly.

McGregor hasn't stepped foot in the Octagon since June 2021, where he broke his leg in a loss against Dustin Poirier. He was scheduled to fight again in June this year against Michael Chandler, but had to pull out due to another injury.

Many onlookers didn't expect to wait too long for McGregor to respond to Paul's callout though, and in a now-deleted tweet he responded:

"Nakisi already rang me lad, it's this guy next for you. Good luck pal."

The post was accompanied by a photo of 82-year-old American politician Mitch McConnell, presumably a reference to the fact that Paul only fights those far older than him.

McGregor is facing further backlash though after what many are calling a 'disgusting' and 'insensitive' post. The former champion posted, following Paul's victory:

"They [Paul's team] are eyeing Prichard Colon for next opponent."

This tweet, like his direct reply to Paul's callout, has also been deleted, but many are finding the reference to Colón - who suffered a traumatic brain injury and remained in a coma for 221 days following a 2015 fight - to be in incredibly bad taste.
