Fans have been left disappointed after a cult classic with a star studded cast and $120 million budget debuts on Rotten Tomatoes at 0%.
The film adaptation of Borderlands has been long awaited ever since it was first announced in 2015.
Based on a video game series, the science fiction action comedy follows the story of an infamous outlaw who returns back to the place where she grew up and forges an alliance with a team of misfits who work together to find the missing daughter of the most powerful man in the universe.

The cast has some pretty big names including Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Despite this, it looks like the reviews are in and they’re not saying great things about the hugely anticipated flick.
The movie hit a flatline with critics after it debuted at 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has since climbed to dismal 7%.

One harsh critic wrote: “Console junkies will find themselves involuntarily hammering an imagined X button in the hope of getting back to the gameplay. No good. You’re stuck with this wacko BS.”
Another critical review claimed that the film “mixes inept directing, terrible writing, indifferent acting and gawdawful CGI into such stupefying boredom, it feels like nothing could top it for badness”.
A third critic added: “Even ignoring the failure of adaptation, this is pretty dreary stuff.”

The film received more positive feedback from the audience, earning it 48% on the audience score.
However, even their reviews weren’t much better, with one audience member writing: “It's a movie that shows the creators understood the character designs and world but hadn't played the game to know the personalities or grasp any of the stories. As a friend put it, they had the best ingredients but barely a recipe to make the meal.”
Another said: “Not quite as horrible as I was expecting in light of the critic reviews, but it is a jumbled mess with a few impressive set pieces. It seems like a classic case of too many people interfering with an original vision, which is a shame. If any movie needed an R-rated edit, it's this one.”

Although, some were a bit more positive with another audience member adding: “The Movie was decent and I enjoyed it. There was parts that kinda dragged but every movie has that.”
It looks like the movie has been pretty universally panned.
