Netflix fans raving about '10/10’ series with perfect Rotten Tomatoes score that should be top of every thriller fan's watch list

The series came out on the streaming platform back in 2021

Netflix fans are raving about a ‘10/10’ series that has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

According to viewers, this show should be at the top of every thriller fan’s watch list.

But it’s a series that you might have overlooked.

That’s because it’s been out on Netflix since 2021, but is only now getting noticed by film fanatics.

But that doesn’t mean it’s a show to sleep on, because Rotten Tomatoes have given it a coveted 100%.

Titled The Chestnut Man, the six-part series starts off in Copenhagen, Denmark, where a young woman is found brutally murdered in mysterious circumstances.

Her body is uncovered in a playground by police with one of her hands missing.

To make things even stranger, a small man made out of chestnuts is hanging above her.

A young detective named Naia Thulin is put on the case to solve the mystery, along with her new partner Mark Hess.

Together, they find that the chestnut figure is linked to the daughter of a politician who disappeared a year prior to the murder.

Talk of the show has made the rounds of social media, with one user taking to the Netflix Bangers Facebook Group where they were keen to offer up their own verdict on the series.

They wrote: “The Chestnut Man - loved watching it. Finished in two days...! For people who love crime thrillers, recommended.”

Another person agreed, adding: “10/10 definitely one of my favorite thrillers,” before going on to admit: “I watched it in November and I still think from time to time about how great this thriller was.”

A third commented: “Nordic writers NEVER disappoint. This was a great binge.”

And it seems that is the general consensus when it comes to this show.

Over on the Rotten Tomatoes website, critics are in agreement, having rated it a full 100%.

One critic praised: “The Chestnut Man Season 1 was surprisingly chilling, and yet it was such a delightfully dark binge I couldn’t help but love it.”

A second agreed: “The Chestnut Man is a great reminder that the Scandinavians still do this stuff better than anyone. It raises the bar.” They cheekily added: “See it before there’s an American remake.”

And it’s good news for fans of the show - last March, Netflix confirmed the show would return for a sequel series.

What’s On Netflix reported actors Danica Curcic and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard would be back for the follow-up.
