Man who dropped GoPro into ocean urged to make 'emergency call immediately' after discovering terrifying object

The YouTuber found something lurking

GoPro cameras are incredible for shedding light on parts of the world that are difficult to access for humans.

One man dropped his camera off the side of a cruise ship to see what lurked underneath and he isn’t the one venturing into the ocean armed with a device to record the footage.

Although sometimes, what we wish we hadn’t after uncovering terrifying answers.

One YouTuber has been urged to make an “emergency call immediately” after he dropped his GoPro into the ocean and discovered an eerie object.

Dusty Sands decided to plunge the camera off a jetty in the Australian city of Port Noarlunga.

Uploading the footage to his YouTube channel, he wrote in the description: “Dropping my Gopro off the side of a jetty in Port Noarlunga.

“We looked back at the footage and kinda got freaked out when we saw it. We tried dropping the GoPro in at the same spot a few more times but never showed up again.”

As the camera plummeted into the murky water, it panned around before revealing a bulbous object that appeared to be beside one of the supports.

It was round and had pronounced spikes, as well as a chain hanging down underneath it further into the water.

If you've watched Finding Nemo or Hot Fuzz, then you might reckon this looks like a sea mine, and plenty of people told the YouTuber they ought to let someone know what they found.

Taking to the comment section to share their reactions, one user wrote: “Looks like a little Naval mine.”

A second said: “Bro out here making the sea seem 3x scarier than it already is. I sure hope that isn't an actual live mine, or if it is, that coast guards take care of it.”

A third posted: “Imagine some dumbass fish exploding an entire beach because he didn't look where he was swimming…”

And a fourth added: “We haven't seen much in the way of naval warfare in South Australia. I don't know if sea mines were ever used here. My guess is it may be a joke or hoax.

“If it is real, it definitely hasn't been there, unnoticed, bumping against a jetty pile for decades.”

It's not just water people like dropping their GoPros into, they also have a penchant for dropping them down big holes as well.

One guy dropped his into the “deepest pit in the USA” to give people a look at depths which would be unwise to explore yourself.
