It seems that Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson can't catch a break when it comes to his Beast Games series for Amazon, but when it broke a mere 44 Guinness World Records and became Prime Video's most-watched unscripted series ever, it was always going to catch our attention.
Even before Beast Games came out, there was controversy when contestants tried to sue amid claims of being subjected to 'emotional distress' while being deprived of medical care, food, sleep, and basic hygiene items.
Others spoke out in the aftermath of it being aired, while Donaldson himself has simply said he can't comment on the situation.

Another point of contention was the $14 million (originally thought to be $15 million) he spent to construct an entire city near an abandoned airport in Toronto. Large enough to house up to 500 contestants who made it that far, Beast City was a walled community surrounded by a moat, including amenities like houses, parks, and recreational facilities.
There are obvious questions about what happened to Beast City after the final credits rolled and Jeffrey Randall Allen, aka Player 831, walked away with $10 million.
Whether turning it into a tourist attraction, offering accommodation to the homeless, or simply saving the set for a potential Beast Games season 2, there were any number of options for what he and Amazon could do with Beast City.

There were already complaints that Amazon splashed $14 million on its construction, but looking at aerial shots from October 2024, it confirmed the whole thing had been demolished not long after filming wrapped.
Over on Reddit, fans rightly asked what happened to Beast City now that Beast Games is over. Someone suggested that Donaldson wanted to blow it up during a typically explosive finale, and while that didn't happen, Beast City is no more.
One disgruntled critic wrote: "Why did they demolish this with the money that MrBeast has it could have been given to a charity for homeless. What a waste shouldn't be allowed because you have money...sad."

When someone elsewhere asked why it was torn down and not kept for a potential future season, another added: "It's all temporary structures. The towers were just scaffolding. Not built to last."
A third said: "Also I’m not sure who owns the land, but it wouldn’t have been easily accessible. Woulda been cool if they made it into a temporary attraction for people to see the city before they tore it down tho lol.."
We should've known that Beast City wasn't long for this world, and in a behind-the-scenes interview, Donaldson explained how he'd have built it somewhere else: “Obviously in an ideal world, I would have built the city back in Greenville, [North Carolina].
"Because we put, whatever, I don’t remember the exact number, somewhere between $10 to $15M into building that city. And, in 30 days it’ll be torn down."

Donaldson has revealed he ost a ton of money making Beast Games, and while that might suggest we won't be getting a second season, let's hope he's learned from the mistakes of the OG Beast City if he's making another.
