A tech expert has busted a myth about ‘incognito’ internet browsers and it is seriously freaking people out.

The tech YouTuber revealed some common myths that many people believe about their gadgets.

And viewers were shocked to find out the truth.

Arun Maini is known online as @Mrwhosetheboss and he uploaded a YouTube Shorts clip where he explained some misconceptions about our tech.

In the video, Maini busted the first myth - that more signal bars equals better service.

He said: “The signal bars on your phone actually show how close you are to the nearest cell tower, not the speed, so full signal can still feel slow if the network is busy.”

Next up, the YouTuber explained that airplane mode doesn’t actually charge your phone faster.

He continued: “Technically speaking yes by about a minute but only because airplane mode makes you lose your battery a tiny bit slower, it doesn't actually have anything to do with the charging itself.”

The third myth is that more megapixels means better photos.

Maini said: “There's so many factors that define how good a modern camera system is that the actual megapixel count is becoming almost meaningless.”

The fourth myth that Maini busts is about your phone speed, revealing that closing apps won’t actually make your phone run faster.

He said: “It actually makes it slower, current smartphones are actually designed to be able to manage and juggle multiple apps automatically in the background so if you keep closing them your phone will actually have to use more power to load them back up again.”

However, the final misconception that Maini corrected had viewers shocked.

He explained that the private browsing mode on your smartphone isn’t actually anonymous.

The YouTuber added: “It does prevent your logins and your history being recorded on your device but everything you do still goes through your internet service provider.”

Many people took to the YouTube comment section to share their reactions to the news.

Giving their thoughts on the matter, one user wrote: “Internet history getting recorded by your internet provider is still the scariest camp fire story for me. I still have nightmares.”

Another said: “My internet service provider seeing my search history in incognito mode: What the.”

A third commented: “Bro got every 14 year old freaking out rn.”

And a fourth person added: “At this point, if they go out of their way to check my incognito history it's on them for their therapy bills.”
