There has been a mixed response to Mike Myers' latest Elon Musk impersonation, as many believe the SNL skit to be insensitive of the billionaire's medical condition, leaving them feeling uncomfortable.
Elon Musk has become a favored feature of many SNL viewers following his rise in government, as comedy legend Mike Myers has donned the graphic t-shirt and MAGA hat to become the richest man in the world at the side of James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump.
Skits involving a chainsaw, Dr. Evil-like mannerisms, and new Tesla vehicles have proven to be divisive for many - including Musk himself. He has repeatedly bitten back against those imitating him, claiming in a number of different ways that the show isn't funny.
One of Myers' favorite repeated mannerisms involved a 'glitch' of sorts, meant to poke fun at Musk's occasional stutters and phrenetic style of speaking, but some across social media have taken umbrage with this particular part of the impression, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Musk famously revealed that he has Asperger's syndrome, and many believe this particular 'tick' to be an inappropriate joke against the condition.
Certain viewers have called the skit "really poor," adding that "making fun of high functioning Asperger's is so typical of the mentally ill left."
"This is such exceedingly bad taste," added Autism Capital - an account Musk frequently interacts with on X. "Wow. Not ever funny, just mean. Born from hate, not from humor."
The Vigilant Fox - who Musk replied to in reference to the latest episode of SNL - argued that the sketch was "just plain mean and fueled by hatred," whereas another added that it's "unpleasant to watch them."

However, there are plenty of people who contrastingly find plenty of fun in the skits, with one even pointing out the 'ticks' as a particular highlight: "The best part - 'Glitch!'"
"Funny as hell," wrote one comment, whereas another added that "I love how well Myers nails Elongated Muskrat's mannerisms. Glad to see him back in comedy skits."

"The f***ing 'glitch' moment is always f***ing funny [laughing emoji]," details another user. "I love that this has been a recurring joke with Mike Myers!"

It's clear that the divisive segment has people on both sides, but generally you are also likely to split those two sides across a political spectrum where those who are fans of Trump are far more likely to defend Musk in the face of criticism.
Other SNL fans aren't too happy with the skits for quite a different reason though, as multiple people have outlined how difficult they are to watch considering how close they are to reality.
"Man, I just don't have it in me to laugh at this s*** anymore," details one comment on Reddit in reference to this week's skit, to which another comment added "'hahaha isn't it funny how f***ed we all are?!'"
Others illustrated that "satire is less funny when the reality is more ridiculous than it can pretend to be," so it's clear that some believe that you simply can't find humor in a situation that is already beyond the realms of comprehension.
