Meme challenges taking place during screenings of A Minecraft Movie appear to have reached new heights, as a TikTok shows the moment when audience members were thrown out by police with their live chicken seized in the process.
Certain films can get caught up in a wave of social media attention though various challenges or trends, as we've seen in recent years with the '#gentleminions' trend where audiences wore suits to go and see Minions: The Rise of Gru.
The latest film to both benefit and suffer from a trend like this is the recently released 'A Minecraft Movie', which adaps the mega hit 2011 video game of the same name.

It has defied all expectations after smashing box office records despite an underwhelming response to the pre-release trailers and marketing, and while its not surprising that an adaptation of the best selling game of all time is proving to be popular, its success is likely routed somewhere else.

Viewers prior to the movie's release appeared to latch on to a two-word phrase - 'Chicken Jockey' - from Jack Black's character Steve, and memes surrounding this have spurred on a craze where audience members cheer and even throw food in the air when this line is said.
The intentionally disruptive craze has caught on through social media apps like TikTok where users share the experience from their own cinema screenings, and it has led movie theaters to clamp down by sending strong messages to audiences and banning children from seeing it on their own.

While the general response to this scene in cinemas has proven crazy enough, some TikTok users have taken things a step further, forcing the police to get involved.
As shared by TikTok user @laurenlundd, audience members during her screening of A Minecraft Movie were almost immediately ejected from the cinema after countless people stood up, cheered, and threw their popcorn around the room, but there was one particularly unique detail that didn't go amiss.

For this particular screening, one audience member had somehow brought in a live chicken, taking the joke to a whole other level - although the chicken itself was subsequently seized and confiscated by the police once they arrived.
"How y'all get a real chicken in there," wonders one commenter, whereas another argues that "screaming chicken jockey is funny, and jumping up in celebration is cool but wasting popcorn and bring a literal chicken bro?"
Many have also expressed their sympathies for the workers who have to clean up the mess, with one user pleading: "As a teenager working minimum wage at a movie theater, please don't do this."

"As a movie theater employee who makes $10.50 an hour, I barely have enough money to pay for my car. Yes I signed up for the job, but not to deal with immature ADULTS."
Others have pointed out that chicken jockey incidents 'became unfunny' once it turned into a trend, so it'll only be a matter of time before people start to lose interest - making it perfect for anyone who actually wants to just see the film in peace.
Intriguingly, TikTok have flagged and age-restricted Lauren's video, detailing in an announcement at the bottom: "Participating in this activity could result in you or others getting hurt."
It's unclear whether this is being applied generally to TikToks detailing the chicken jockey meme, or whether it's specific to this particular video due to the mention of police.
