DOGE staffer responds to Donald Trump's savage comments on how Elon Musk and his younger employees dress

We can't all walk around in bespoke Brioni suits

There's an old stereotype that those in the tech industry don't dress particularly well, with the early days of Mark Zuckerberg being remembered for his form-fitting gray t-shirts and blue jeans. The Meta overlord has had something of a glow-up, while Steve Jobs will always be known for his suave Issey Miyake mock turtlenecks.

Shows like Silicon Valley and The Big Bang Theory haven't exactly made 'tech bros' look like fashionistas, but it seems everyone is being tarred with the same brush.

Now that Donald Trump is back in the White House, the President of the United States is being thrown into a whole new world of tech. There's a reason the world's richest men gathered at his inauguration, and while they all looked suitably suited and booted, it seems the POTUS isn't a fan of everyone's dress sense.

Trump himself is known for his sharp Brioni suits, and by the sounds of it, he wants to give Elon Musk a Queer Eye-inspired makeover.

In a recent interview with Fox News, the President and his so-called 'First Buddy' discussed everything from stranded NASA astronauts to the Department of Government Efficiency hoping to meet $2 trillion of government spending cuts.

Speaking of the DOGE, Trump didn't hold back when he called the fashion sense of Musk's staffers into question. During the interview, Trump said: "With his hundred geniuses, he's got some very brilliant people working for him that dress much worse than him actually. They dress in just T-shirts. You wouldn't know they have 180 IQ."

While Musk took the fashion diss with a chuckle, another DOGE staffer has spoken out on the jibe. Posting on X, Christopher Stanley shared a picture of him in an X-branded hoodie and wrote: "Mr. President, I wear a hoodie. It’s too cold for a T-Shirt."

Stanley is seen sporting a suit in his profile picture, so it's likely he's also just having a little fun with the President.

Others in the comments were a fan of his dressed-down look, with someone else adding: "It’s badass that the @DOGE team is decked out in black sweatsuits with a black X and slashing government spending while walking the halls of federal offices like the grim reaper."

Another said: "True heroes don't need to look the part dress the part speak about themselves ...They don't need the fame or recognitions ...To DOGE employees it's a Tuesday ..To The People it's the Dawn of a New Era.....thank you."

Someone concluded: "Yooooooo! Nice. DOGE team should get gold hoodies. 😆."

Well, maybe if they can get anywhere near that proposed $2 trillion in cuts.

Stanley looks like a key part of Mus's inner circle, with his website listing him as the Head of Security Engineering at X and the Principal Security Engineer at SpaceX. As for his role in the DOGE, Stanley helped spearhead an AI chatbot in hopes of cutting back on government waste. See, wearing a fancy suit doesn’t necessarily make you the right person for the job.
