As the weather starts to cool, you may be thinking about booking a winter getaway.

But at the same time, your bank account is practically groaning at the number of outgoings every month.

With everything feel so much more expensive right now, the last thing you want to do is splash out more cash on a vacation.

But what if you could jet off on your travels without paying a single penny?

An expert has shared three super easy ways you can get yourself a free flight and he insists they're 'totally legal.'

YouTube channel Law by Mike shared his advice in a Short posted earlier this week.

"First, follow your favorite airline on social media," he said. "Airlines give away miles and rewards just for liking their posts or following them.

"For example, Norse Atlantic offered free tickets for you and a friend just for following them."

With many of us having multiple accounts across various social media platforms, just think of how many free flights and other rewards that could add up to.

His next tip: travel with a friend that has a companion pass.

"Some airlines like Alaskan Airlines and Southwest offer companion passes that let you bring a friend for free."

And lastly, volunteer to get kicked off a flight.

Mike says: "Volunteer to get off when [a flight] is overbooked because you can receive flight vouchers, upgrades and sometimes even cash. Doesn't that sound great?"

Users in the comments certainly thought so.

One person wrote: "Finally... A 'free money glitch' that isn't literally committing fraud."

Another commented: "Love ur videos they are very useful and creative keep up the good work!"

And a third said: "Getting free flights just for following is crazy."

A fourth shared their experience of volunteering to get off an overbooked flight.

"In my mid 20s, a friend and I would book flights for early in the day on Wednesday before Thanksgiving," they said.

"We'd volunteer to be bumped a few times since they always oversold. A few years we did it we cleared $4000 in air miles, and we used those to pay for our vacation through the SkyMall.

"I booked a flight from Houston to Dallas, hung out in the airport for a day, and ended up with a paid vacation to NY for a week."

But, if you decide to follow suit, others commenters warn not to give up your seat too quickly.

"Volunteer to give up your seat, but not right away. Let them raise the offer a bit lol."
