Dedicated Apple fans who bought the latest iPhone in anticipation of the much-touted AI features won’t have much longer to wait, according to the latest information from an industry insider.
Apple Intelligence features have been greatly anticipated by Apple fans. The new features will bring in a range of new toys to play with. This ranges from new AI-powered writing tools, notification summaries to clean-up modes in photos.
Some users were disappointed that the new suite of tools were not available alongside the launch of the new iPhone 16 range. One industry insider suggests a reason for this. According to noted leaker Mark Gurman, Apple are trying to eliminate any bugs that may be lurking in the software, which appears to be taking longer than anticipated.

To ensure a smooth rollout, Gurman says that Apple are also checking on the integrity and capacity of its private cloud servers. This work is to ensure that the servers can handle the load when millions of users try to upgrade all at once.
The updated Apple Intelligence features will begin rolling out to users from October 28, 2024. In order to take advantage of Apple Intelligence features, users will need an iPhone 15 Pro, or one of the new iPhone 16 handsets. No other iPhone is currently compatible.
Despite the rollout being just around the corner, not all the promised features are included. Tools such as ChatGPT support, Genmoji and Image Playground, along with the updated version of Siri will not be included.

Though a new Siri UI will be integrated into the update, users will need to wait longer for some of the flashier tools and features.
Some users on Twitter/X were excited to test out the new features, such as one commenter who said: “Excited to see how Apple Intelligence integrates into my daily life and enhances my productivity while respecting my privacy and data security. Hoping for a seamless and intuitive experience!” and other adding: “So it begins... After hearing so much about iOS 18.1, it will be nice to get some hands on with it finally.”
Others were less than impressed that the rollout had taken so long, with one saying: “More than a month later, Apple will finally let customers see part of Apple Intelligence. The marquee feature of the new iPhone. Just Unacceptable.”
