While Republicans celebrate Donald Trump's road back to the White House and Kamala Harris' supporters lick their wounds, America is poised to become a much scarier for some. Alongside Trump's promises of mass deportations on his first day back in power, the returning President of the United States has been vocal about the transgender community.
With millions of dollars reportedly being spent on anti-trans ads in the run-up to the election, Trump has vowed to ban trans athletes from competing and has made sweeping statements about gender transition surgeries secretly happening at school.
Trump's official site has a whole page dedicated to how he will 'protect children from left-wing gender insanity,' and with it, trans Americans are already looking to flee the country.

Like we saw a spike in searches for those looking to call Canada a new home, many trans residents claim they'll be leaving the USA.
Among them is Elon Musk's estranged daughter, who says she's ready to cut ties with America.
20-year-old Vivian Jenna Wilson stopped talking to her father in 2022, filing a petition to change her gender and her name to separate herself from Elon Musk. Musk himself claims his child was 'killed' by a 'woke mind virus' and refuses to acknowledge her as his daughter.

Posting on Threads, Wilson said: "I’ve thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don’t see my future being in the United States."
Looking ahead at how the Trump administration could roll back LGBTQ+ rights in the USA, she continued: "Even if he’s only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don’t happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon."
Wilson is one of the six children who Musk shares with his first wife, Justine Wilson. Musk has previously spoken about the situation between him and his daughter, telling biographer Walter Isaacson: "She went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil." He claims to have reached out but says she has no interest in talking to him.

Wilson has been equally outspoken about her father, and in response to Musk saying that Wilson was 'dead,' she told NBC News he was rarely in her life. She went on to describe him as 'cold,' 'quick to anger,' and 'narcissistic.'
Musk looks set to become a key member of the Trump administration, and as well as throwing his support behind the Republican Party at rallies, he's been branded as part of his 'inner circle' after spending election night with the future POTUS.
Although Wilson tends to keep a low profile away from her father's shadow, she said his comments about offering to impregnate Taylor Swift after she endorsed Harris were 'heinous incel nonsense.'
Comments on Wilson's Threads post about leaving the USA ranged from support to others warning her that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
