Never one to shy away from a fight, X owner Elon Musk has addressed accusations that creators don't get paid enough on the social media site formerly known as Twitter.
In response to a post from X user DogeDesigner reading: "š paid over 80,000 creators through the ads revenue sharing program in less than a year.
"More and more content creators are joining the š family."

Musk replied: "Creator rewards will increase significantly this year."
It all seems pretty innocuous, but there's some important background to know.
At the end of December, Musk and YouTuber MrBeast hit the headlines.

MrBeast - who has an eye-watering 229 million subscribers on YouTube - posted on X, telling people to go watch his latest video.
X user DogeDesigner replied: "Upload on this platform too," to which Musk himself responded with one simple word: "Yeah."
This word sparked something in MrBeast - real name Jimmy Donaldson - who somewhat savagely replied: "My videos cost millions to make and even if they got a billion views on X it wouldnāt fund a fraction of it."
So Musk's post saying creator rewards will increase "significantly" this year could be interpreted as a response to MrBeast - who holds a lot of power as the most-subscribed individual on YouTube and one of the most influential creators online.

MrBeast did also post on X: "Iām down though to test stuff once monetization is really cranking!"
So if things really are changing for creators on X, who knows - maybe we'll be seeing a lot more of MrBeast's epic videos on Musk's site sometime soon.
MrBeast has made a name for himself with the incredibly high production value of his videos, which range from wild challenges ('I spent 7 days in solitary confinement' and 'I spent 50 hours buried alive') as well as games giving away huge prizes (like 'Last to leave circle wins $500,000' and 'Extreme $1,000,000 hide and seek').
