MrBeast has spoken out on President Donald Trump’s tariffs and revealed the shocking impacts on his business.
The YouTuber has taken to social media to share his experience on how the president’s recent tariff announcements have affected his chocolate brand.
Feastables was launched by MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, back in 2022 and has been a big commercial successor for the content creator.

And today (April 8), Donaldson took to X, formerly Twitter, to write: “Ironically because of all the new tariffs it is now way cheaper to make our chocolate bars we sell globally NOT in America because other countries don’t have a 20%+ tariff on our cogs.
“Btw we pay our farmers a living income, use fair trade certified beans, etc. so I was already spending a lot on cocoa. A random price hike was pretty brutal ngl.

“We’ll figure it out. I feel for small businesses though. Could really be a nail in the coffin for them.”
Trump spoke to the press at the White House Rose Garden on April 2 where he revealed new tariffs to be placed on imports from various countries around the world.
One of these countries is China, which Trump has said will see a 34% tariff on imports starting tomorrow (April 9).
However, the president wasn’t happy when China announced that it would be imposing a retaliatory 34% fee on imported American products.

Trump took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, to threaten adding an additional 50% fee on the country if it doesn’t withdraw its tariff.

In the post, Trump wrote: “Any country that retaliates against the U.S. by issuing additional tariffs, above and beyond their already existing long term tariff abuse of our nation, will be immediately met with new and substantially higher tariffs, over and above those initially set.”
He continued: “Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th.”

But China doesn’t appear to be backing down and instead, the country’s commerce ministry accused the US of ‘blackmail’, saying: “China will fight to the end if the US side is bent on going down the wrong path.”
The clock is ticking ever closer to these new tariffs taking effect tomorrow, so only time will tell whether Trump does enforce this higher fee on China.
