Man sailing across the pacific on his own shares his location on Google Maps and it's freaking people out

His viewers are worried about him

A man is living out his dream by solo sailing across the Pacific Ocean and people are terrified after finding his location on Google Maps.

Luke, known as Sailing Songbird on his TikTok page, has been documenting his journey on his 27ft sailboat.

The sailor decided to uproot his life as a music teacher and pursue his dream of sailing the world.

In one video, he showed what sleeping was like aboard his tiny boat, which didn't look at all comfy as he looked to be thrown side to side as the boat rocked.

But it was his location update on Google Maps that really put viewers in a panic.

Luke said in his video: “I’m stuck here in the doldrums. There is no wind.”

Whilst paddleboarding for his daily exercise, he described how ‘incredibly disorientating’ it is to see ‘absolutely nothing on the horizon’.

Sharing his live location on Google Maps, he explained being 'as far away from land as you can be on this planet.' Slap bang in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

As much as a nightmare it is for some people, Luke did go on to say that it is one of the 'incredible things' he's privileged enough to experience.

Describing their nightmare scenario, one horrified user commented: “My thalassophobia could neverrrr.”

Thalassophobia is the intense fear of deep water, like the ocean, lakes or other large bodies of water.

To make things scarier, Luke’s location in the Pacific Ocean is home to Challenger Deep - the deepest point on Earth at more than 36,000 feet below the surface.

"Bro uninstalled fear," another user added whilst someone else wrote: "It sounds both spectacular and horrifying."

Another shocked viewer said: “Nothing is creepier than an open body of water. I can’t.”

Meanwhile, others were amazed by Luke's phone signal.

“Man’s uploading from the Pacific Ocean, and I’m losing network in my bathroom,” one wrote.

While another joked: “Damn the pacific got Wi-Fi?”

Crazily enough, Luke did travel kitted out with a dish on his boat so he could pick up a phone signal while roaming the ocean.

Another thing that amazed viewers was the fact Luke was out at sunset on an inflatable paddleboard. A pretty bold move when you're in the middle of the vast blue.

"I’m still having panic attacks from the paddle board video," said a viewer.

Others are hoping for an update from the TikToker to know he's okay and not still stranded!
