Xbox fans are up in arms over a major leak - with some even threatening to sell their consoles.
So what's the beef?
Apparently Microsoft is planning to turn Xbox into a multi-platform publisher - that's what the rumors are saying, and it would be quite a controversial move.

This is all linked to declining hardware sales, meaning people think Xbox will move away from selling hardware paired with first-party exclusives.
That could reportedly mean that Xbox-only games, like Starfield, would launch on other consoles - like the PS5.
There are some big new Xbox game releases coming up - like Indiana Jones, which might soon make their way onto PlayStation consoles as well.

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, shared a somewhat ominous post on X (formerly known as Twitter) a couple of days ago: "We're listening and we hear you. We've been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned."
While it's pretty vague, people are speculating in the comment section that it's all about Xbox going multi-platform - and safe to say it's stirring up a lot of heat.
"Christ, leaving the home console market and going multi-platform is going to hurt the industry so much. Why is it so impossible for Xbox to make good games that compete with Sony? That's where your problem lies and you should have spent the last decade fixing it," one scathing comment read.

Another added: "Who the hell would choose a Series X over a PS5 now? This decision literally makes Xbox Series X objectively worse than PS5. No debate."
But it's key to note that it's all rumor at the moment - and no one actually knows for sure whether Microsoft is making that big of a change at Xbox.
However, some people don't want to wait to find out, with one X post reading: "Gotta sell it before it’s not worth a pair of socks."

It is true that Xbox is falling behind, particularly when you consider the overwhelming success of the PS5. According to the Financial Times, the Sony's PS5 outsold Microsoft's Xbox by almost three to one in 2023.
Microsoft recently completed one of the biggest takeovers in gaming history, after buying Activision - which is responsible for major franchises like Call of Duty and Warcraft.
We'll just have to wait for Microsoft's formal business update to find out more.
