If you’re looking to make some extra cash, it might be time to dig through your old PlayStation collection because some of them are selling for a crazy amount of money.
The retro market is booming, with everything from classic video games to CDs and even DVDs fetching big bucks online.
Just look at one woman who bought an entire garage sale worth of DVDs and flipped them for a surprisingly large profit.

So before you offload your old games on eBay for cheap or donate them to a charity shop, it’s worth checking if you’re sitting on a hidden goldmine.
For instance, if you grew up with a PlayStation, you'll most likely remember Spyro the Dragon which debuted in 1998.
The adorable, fire-breathing mascot kept gamers entertained for hours and quickly became a popular mascot for Sony's PlayStation 1 alongside the iconic Crash Bandicoot from Naughty Dog.

Spyro was first launched as a PlayStation exclusive and aside from the original trilogy - including Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. However, because it was such a massive hit, the game went on to spawn a bunch of sequels and reboots, which were available on several platforms including PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Twenty years on, Activision and Toys for Bob revived the original trilogy and released a full remastered collection in 2018.
"Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years," Toys for Bob Studio Head Paul Yan said at the time.
"We're deeply committed to getting these games right, so we've decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018."

He added: "I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you're exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you'll agree the extra time was worth the wait."
But if you’ve still got a copy of the original games, they could fetch you a pretty penny.

A sealed 2002 Spyro: Collector’s Edition is currently listed on eBay for $499.99 (£394), while another seller is asking for a jaw-dropping $999.99 (£788).

2008’s Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon which followed a darker take on the series also markets some high prices.
According to eBay, a sealed copy can go for £146, while a Russian version is on sale for £105.
If Spyro is no longer in your collection, don't worry as it’s not the only retro PlayStation game that could net you a payday.
Some 90s classics could be worth up to $1.5 million, and even certain PS2 games from 2004 are still proving their worth years on.

That said, not every rare game is worth keeping - one banned PS2 game is so controversial that owning it could actually get you arrested. So, don't include that in your listings!
