The price of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 might have just been leaked by Costco.
The Nintendo Switch offers blockbuster games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so it’s no surprise that hype is building for its next-generation upgrade.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to hit stores this summer, but according to an alleged Costco employee, it could be arriving even sooner.

In a thread found on Famiboards, a Canadian Costco employee recently shared pictures of an internal product listing and the in-store price tag for 'Nintendo Switch Place Holder' - or 'Place Holder' as the misspelt price tag reads.
More excitingly, is the price which has been used which marks the Nintendo Switch successor as retailing at $499 CAD, which equates to around $350 USD.

This is $100 more than the original Switch and $50 more than the Switch OLED in Canada. This aligns with the approximate $399 price analysts have been projecting for the next-gen console for months. So it wouldn’t be especially surprising if that’s the number Nintendo landed on.

Plus, Nintendo has recently assured investors that it plans to 'consider the affordable prices that consumers expect from Nintendo products.'
With the leaks already spreading fans are pretty surprised and excited about the price.
“If it actually ends up being under $400, I would be stunned,” one user commented on the Nintendo Wire X account.
However, as with any leak, there's always a chance that this listing has no relation to the upcoming Switch 2.

Instead, it could be for an unannounced original Switch bundle, an error in the system, or just a fabricated leak from an employee.

Whatever the case, we should have our questions answered on April 2 at the next Nintendo Direct. That’s likely when we’ll get official confirmation on the Switch 2’s price, release date and features.
In the meantime, Nintendo has also reassured fans that it’s aware of potential scalping issues (buying items in bulk and reselling at higher prices) and is working to produce enough units to meet demand at launch.

However, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa admitted that ramping up production won’t be easy.
"As of now, we are taking the risk and proceeding with production to meet as large a demand as possible," said Furukawa as part of a Q&A session in Nintendo’s previous earnings call and translated by GamesIndustry.biz.
"As was true with the Switch, we believe it will not be easy to rapidly increase production capacity, so based on our prior experience, we are making preparations to respond as quickly as possible."
