Nintendo's latest decision surrounding the launch of the Switch 2 has left fans feeling frustrated, as the games company has been branded 'greedy' for removing a major feature from an upcoming release.
Excitement has never been higher for the Nintendo Switch 2, as in just a few months people will finally be able to get their hands on the new console that promises dramatically increased performance and a number of intriguing new games.
While there have been worries that a major problem might return from its predecessor, new features and game-changing exclusives have done more than enough to tide over many fans.

One of the biggest reasons why many are so excited for Nintendo's next console though is the ability to play older games at a higher resolution and with a better frame rate thanks to the improved hardware and software hidden inside.

Both new mainline Legend of Zelda games suffered greatly due to the original Switch's lackluster power output, but Nintendo have made a big effort to advertise the massive uptick in performance that you can get from both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on the Switch 2.
However, reports of missing features from Breath of the Wild's Switch 2 edition have left fans with a sour taste in their mouth, accusing Nintendo of being 'greedy' with their games.

As indicated by IGN, the new - and more expensive - version of Breath of the Wild won't include any of the game's pre-existing DLC that was released several years ago.
This includes a few extra chests, alongside The Master Trials and The Champions' Ballad - both of which add significant new content to the game.
You can currently buy these as part of the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass, which costs $19.99 on the Nintendo Store, but plenty of fans were expecting that they would be bundled into the new Switch 2 package alongside the performance enhancements, as is standard for 'definitive' editions of older games.
"Greed is the name of the game," writes one comment on a Reddit thread concerning the news, with another adding that "whoever made this decision is clearly out of their minds."

Some have already criticized Nintendo for increasing the base price of their new games on the Switch 2, with one YouTuber pointing towards this change as a 'hidden cost' of the console, so neglecting to include expansion content in a game that's now eight years old is certainly a move that won't have many fans.

Add this to the worries that Trump's tariffs will dramatically increase the price of the console itself, and you can understand why news that people will have to spend more money isn't exactly well received.
"Seriously Nintendo how many L's do you want to stack" asks another comment in the thread, with one other user going as far to state: "Yeah, I'm not getting the Switch 2 just outta morals lol. Like..... Nintendo needs to get off this high horse thinking they can do anything they want and just get away with it."
One small silver lining however is news that anyone who already owns the DLC won't need to buy it again for the Switch 2 version, and if you also own the game in it's original Switch state the most you'll need to do is either purchase the upgrade pack for around $10 or subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion tier to receive the performance boosts.
