These game-changing hidden iPhone tricks could enable you to text so much faster than normal.
There are a lot of new and exciting features coming for Apple fans this fall with the launch of iOS 18.
The update comes with plenty of new additions to the device, including a complete revamp of Siri into the ultimate virtual assistant with Apple Intelligence.

Other upgrades include functions where users will finally be able to customize their home screen by moving apps and widgets around the screen.
However, there are some hidden features that are already readily available to use on your device, but you’ve probably never even heard of them.
In fact, there are several ways you can adapt your iPhone to help you text faster and here are some simple tips on how to achieve this:
Swipe to type
You don’t need to be typing out individual letters for every message you send. If you go to “settings”, then “general”, followed by “keyboard”, you can select the function “slide to type”.

Once it’s switched on, you’ll be able to touch a letter and then drag your finger across all the letters of that word.
Text replacement
Back into those settings again and select “keyboard”, you’ll find “text replacement”.

If you hit that, then you can set up shortcuts that’ll change short words into longer phrases or chunks of text.
Hidden trackpad
If you hold your finger down on the spacebar, you’ll find a hidden trackpad that will allow you to slide around and find the stop where you want the cursor to go.
Mini keyboard
If you’ve got your hands full and are needing to type one-handed, it can really slow you down, especially if your thumbs don't reach all the way...

That’s where the mini keyboard comes in handy.
Open up a text and hit the globe or emoji icon in the corner. This will give you options for which side of the screen you want the mini keyboard to be.
This will help you to type with one hand much quicker.
Fast numbers
Another tip for typing faster is by accessing numbers much faster.

Instead of clicking on the “123” button and then going back to letters using “ABC”, you can simply click and hold down on “123” and then drag your finger across the screen to the number you want to type.
Once you’ve done so, you can release it and it’ll automatically take you back to the keypad.
Period shortcut
Instead of manually adding in the period at the end of a sentence, you can make use of a shortcut that’ll take away the hassle.
Go back into your settings and find “keyboard” to access the shortcut.
It allows you to double tap the spacebar, which will insert the period and start a new sentence for you.
All of the tips save you fractions of seconds but it all adds up and you’ll be typing like a whiz in no time.
