Apple has revealed its groundbreaking plans to add an ‘AI doctor’ to the iPhone’s Health app.
The tech giant is expanding the capabilities of its artificial intelligence, known as Apple Intelligence.
And with a complete revamp of the Health app, it looks like a new service could soon be made available to iPhone users.

According to a report made by Bloomberg, an ‘AI doctor’ might soon be available to answer medical queries.
This seems to be in line with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s vision for the company.
In 2019, Cook had said: “If you zoom out into the future, and you look back, and you ask the question, ‘what was Apple’s greatest contribution to mankind?’ it will be about health.”

In the Bloomberg report, it revealed that Apple has been working on something known as Project Mulberry, which will see a complete overhaul of the Health app and the introduction of an AI doctor.
This AI doctor will be able to replicate some analysis that can be done by a real doctor.
It will also then be able to make personalized recommendations in order to improve the user’s health.
To achieve this, Apple is currently training its AI with data from doctors and also plans to bring in doctors to film video content for the app.

Sumbul Desai, who is the doctor that runs the health team at Apple, is said to be prioritizing the new Health app and Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer, is also said to be heavily involved in the work.
Although it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting the AI doctor anytime soon.
Apple is expected to release iOS 18.4 tomorrow (April 1) but this new tech won’t be part of the update.

Instead, its thought that the new AI will be available to users by around April 2026.
Apple shared its first step into AI technology last year with its unveiling of Apple Intelligence for iOS 18.
However, the AI features were not available when the iPhone 16 was released in 2024 and instead has been launched in stages in the last few months.
Many people have taken to social media to react to the news, with one user writing on Reddit: “Siri can barely tell me the weather or set a reminder, I don’t think I’ll be taking health advice from any of their other tools.”

And another joked: “Siri, am I having a heart attack? You have no reminders set for Wednesday.”
