Apple have officially announce two new members of the 'Air' family, and the reaction has been... mixed.
We know you tend to give Apple a bit of a rough ride when it comes to hating on Apple Intelligence, updates zapping the power from your iPhone, and the underwhelming reveal of the iPhone 16e, but at least the tech giant keeps us busy with new releases pretty regularly.
While the leakers spoiled the surprise ahead of time...again, Apple has just unveiled a new line of 'Air' products.

Typically being lighter and thinner than their bigger brothers and sisters, the first MacBook Air arrived on the scene in 2008 and was joined by the first generation of iPad Air in 2013.
Apple overlord Tim Cook unsubtly teases a new lineup with a post about there being 'something in the air, and while we'll take all the products we can, it feels like the Air family is missing a sibling.

Despite a new iPad Air releasing in 2024, the latest edition upgrades things by jumping up to the upgraded M3 chip when compared to the slower M2. While it's still a step down from 2024's iPad and MacBook Pro offerings, the latest iPad Air also boasts the new Magic Keyboard (at a premium).

With a choice of four color options, the 11-inch iPad Air (M3) and 13-inch iPad Air (M3) come in at $599 and $799 each, while it appears the M2 versions are being phased out.
This reveal was quickly followed by Apple announcing the new MacBook Air M4 and Mac Studio.
With the MacBook Air M4 launching at $999, it puts it on par with the original price of the M1 MacBook Air and is seen as quite the bargain.
Of course, disgruntled tech owners are never satisfied. The iPad Air got a particularly frosty reception, with one critic grumbling: "Or I can just use my phone and save $599."

Another moaned, “I skip right by any news about the iPad," and a third said, "Idk what they doing over there at Apple but is not looking good."
Even though many were disappointed there was no M4 MacBook Air, all it took was a little patience until they got what they wanted. Still, it's clear that the only 'Air' some of you want to breathe is from a brand-new iPhone.

Even before some of us had gotten our hands on the iPhone 16, veteran Apple analyst Mark Gurman was talking about the iPhone 17 Air as early as November 2024.
Things have continued since then, and when supposed leaks of the iPhone 17 Air did the rounds in January, we were pumped. There might've been some complaints that it looked like a Google Pixel phone, but most were excited to get their hands on a new 'Air' variant.
As some pointed out, the week is far from over. Could Apple reveal three new Air products in a week, and could we finally get an official look at the mythical model of the iPhone Air? Probably not, but then again, Apple has surprised us before.
