HBO is currently filming the second season of the hit series The Last of Us.
While the first season stuck closely to the events of the first game, the second season will dive deeper into Ellie’s story from The Last of Us Part II.
And with it being over a year since the first season premiered, fans are eagerly looking for any sneak peeks from the set.

No official photos or trailers have been released yet, however, leaked set photos of Bella Ramsey's Ellie and Isabela Merced's Dina have begun cropping up on social media.
And it seems to have caused outrage among fans.
Ramsey has faced criticism in her role before, being described as 'too young' to play the older Ellie - especially following the multi-year time jump between seasons one and two.

Fan page, The Last of Us News, on X posted a comparison of Bella Ramsey's Ellie and the original character from the Naughty Dog game, captioned: 'New look at Bella Ramsey as Ellie Williams in HBO's The Last of Us Season 2'.

The images that have caught the most attention are the ones that showcase Ellie’s tattoo.
In The Last of Us Part II, Ellie covers her bite mark with a chemical burn and then gets her ex-girlfriend Cat to tattoo over it.
The design has become synonymous with the character and iconic among fans, with many getting it themselves as a tribute to Ellie and the series.
However, fans of the original video game are calling Ramsey's tattoo both too small and misplaced.

Some have even called the design 'cheap.'
One user wrote: 'tattoo too small in the wrong spot no butch bob what is going AWHN here'.

Others have also stated that HBO 'couldn’t even get the tattoo right' and that it looks more like an 'Ellie cosplay.'
While most fans agree that the tattoo design isn’t what they expected, less heated individuals also pointed out that this does not reflect Ramsey’s performance as Ellie.
'You know… I get certain things like the tattoo. What I don’t get is hating on the actor, I particularly think Bella Is doing fantastic portraying Ellie,' wrote another X user.
'Just because it’s not perfect, doesn’t mean you can attack someone’s appearance.'
The Last of Us season 2 is set to release sometime in 2025, with Pedro Pascal returning as Joel.
