Black Mirror season 7 is on the way, and 14 years after the sci-fi series first aired, it’s become something of a blockbuster bloodbath. While the early days included names like Rory Kinnear, Hayley Atwell, and Daniel Kaluuya before some of them were as big as they are today, it’s since boomed into an A-list red carpet.
After Netflix nabbed Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, and Salma Hayek for season 6, season 7 boasts a groaning cast list that includes Issa Rae, Paul Giamatti, and Peter Capaldi.
Sure to be a jewel in season 7’s crown is the much-hyped “USS Callister” sequel, with the crew of the titular spaceship slipping back into their uniforms.

UNILAD Tech spoke all things Space Fleet with Milanka Brooks, discussing how the rumored “USS Callister” spin-off series evolved into a sequel episode and whether we could see her return to play the blue-skinned Elena Tulaska again.

It hasn’t escaped Brooks that Black Mirror is one of the hottest tickets in town for actors, but who would she like to see in future instalments?
“That's a great question because there's actors I'd love to work with, but I can't see some of them in Black Mirror,” admitted Brooks.

Highlighting Babygirl’s Harris Dickinson, she referred to him as ‘really interesting’ and said, “I think he's wonderful…He has such subtlety.”
“USS Callister” is remembered for making Jesse Plemons’ Roger Daly into its big bad, but in terms of Dickinson, Brooks thinks he’d be the perfect foe: “He's got a baby face, but I think he can play evil. So if we were to have an evil arch-nemesis, he'd be pretty good.”
She also went on to highlight Harriet Walter but reminded us she’s already starring in season 7, and then suggested Zoë Wanamaker. After all, Wanamaker pulled off a brilliant turn as the foul Lady Cassandra in Doctor Who.

Another big name came to mind, after after listening to him telling people to ‘f**k off’ for three seasons of Sucession, Brooks would love to see Brian Cox in Black Mirror: “If you put any of the Succession cast in there, gosh, that would be interesting. Brian Cox would make a great villain. Can you imagine? Wow, I'm actually nervous thinking about it.”
It's too early to start talking about Black Mirror season 8 (season 7 isn't even out yet), but assuming we get another run of episodes, you can bet that some equally massive names will be landing a lucrative role in the tech terror anthology.
We’ve already seen Matthew Macfadyen go from playing the weaselly Tom Wambsgans in Succession to even more weaselly Mr. Paradox in Deadpool & Wolverine, while Kieran Culkin is also having a meteoric rise. Netflix clearly isn’t against casting Succession alumni after it put Walters in season 7, casting more Succession alumni.
If those dreams of a USS Callister sequel series ever come back into fashion, we can think of no one better to play the war-torn captain of some rival vessel than Brian Cox.
