A man has filled his car with vodka instead of gasoline in order to see if it works.

The baffling video leads something that viewers have described as ‘absolutely insane’.

The YouTuber, who is known online as @AutoVlogOfficial, documented the experiment for his subscribers.

In the clip, he used Absolut Vodka instead of gas to fill up his 1994 Ford Ranger.

In the video description, it read: “Here's what happens if you run out of gas and then fill up the tank with a gallon of Absolut Vodka instead of fuel, it does not end well and don't try this in your own car!”

Arriving at the liquor store for its opening time of 11am, the YouTuber stocks up on vodka to run his truck with.

But there’s a catch, first he needs the car to run completely out of gas before he can top it up with alcohol.

Auto Vlog said: “I'm just getting sick of waiting here so what we're going to do is we're just going to get out on the road while it still has, I guess, some fumes left in her and drive till she dies.”

He added: “It's got to die here any second, any second, maybe up the hill.”

When it finally does die, the YouTuber films himself filling up the car with the unusual fuel before starting the engine - and unbelievably, the vehicle starts.

Talking to the camera, the YouTuber said: “I poured in half a gallon of vodka, you guys saw the truck sputter for a few minutes before it completely died so now we're just going to hop right in and see if she starts up.

“This truck is freaking awesome, now it's making a very scratchy sound and it smells weird but, I mean, I don't feel like she's misfiring or anything like that.

“The needle hasn't really moved all that much but maybe a teeny, teeny little bit.

“Are we going to get out on the road and drive it with only vodka in the gas tank?”

But things weren’t looking good.

Auto Vlog continued: “I didn't get far, oh she's dying all right, I'm going back her up here again, maybe that's not enough.

“I do have one more bottle of vodka.”

Adding in the final bottle, the YouTuber’s truck caved in and died altogether.

He joked: “I guess she got way too drunk.”

Viewers took to the comment section to share their reactions.

One user wrote: “What the internet was made for.”

Another said: “Your unemployed friend on a random Tuesday at 3pm.”

A third person commented: “Dude buys gallons of Vodka at exactly 11am. You know the clerk is looking at him like.”

A fourth joked: “‘Sir we smell alcohol on you’, ‘No no you smell alcohol on the car’.”

And a fifth user added: “That scratchy sound was the unmistakable sound of the starter motor begging for the sweet mercy of death. And eventually its wish was granted.”
