A man has sacrificed his car in order to find out what would really happen if you switched from fifth to first gear while driving 65 mph.
If you’ve ever had those intrusive thoughts while driving down a highway, wondering what would happen if you just abruptly changed out of the correct gear, then this video is for you.
The YouTuber in question is known online as Auto Vlog and has gained a following of nearly one million subscribers through his car content.
He tends to do what others would never dare but have always wondered about such as trying to run your car with vodka instead of gasoline and putting popcorn oil into the car instead of motor oil.

In his latest instalment, he decided to put his vehicle to the test by seeing what would happen if he changed into first gear while driving at 65 mph.
Talking to the camera, the YouTuber said: “We're really going to put the transmission and the engine to the test because, have you ever wondered what would happen if you put your vehicle in first gear while you're going 60 miles an hour?
“Probably not because why would you? It's an extremely stupid thing to do and I should also add that this is obviously a manual, it's a five-speed manual, now the engine in this bad boy is a 2.3 liter, four-cylinder, it's not a fast vehicle.”
He added: “I would be lying if i said i'm not nervous, for some reason I've never been this nervous before doing one of these extremely stupid videos.”

Testing it out, Auto Vlog filmed himself driving his car up to speed before switching the gear.
To his surprise, the vehicle made a strange noise before slowing down.
He said: “What was that! The tires locked up - oh, it applies brakes, I guess. Wow, I did not expect that, that is weird.

“I expected the engine to just start revving like crazy… I mean, this truck is insane, built for tough, I guess it's indestructible.
“My mouth is so dry cause I'm nervous.”
Viewers took to the YouTube comment section to react to the video.
One user wrote: “This man is literally risking his safety and money for educational purposes, mad respect.”
