A man ran 5K every day for 31 days to see what the effects would be.

The YouTuber was surprised when he saw unexpected changes take place in his body.

Andrew, who is known online as Andrew Made A Film, documented the experience for his 8,680 subscribers.

In the video description, it read: “I was feeling stagnant and finding it hard to concentrate, so I set myself a challenge to get me out of the house and clear the fog from my brain. I tried to run five kilometres every day for 31 days in October.”

So, what is the impact of running 5K for 31 days in a row?

Talking about his progress, Andrew said: “I didn’t think to do a before and after because I really didn’t think anything would change that much.

“I’ve got a pair of pencil legs but I was surprised to see how quickly I developed some muscle on my calves in particular and my knees. It wasn’t the goal of the experiment but it was nice to feel much stronger in my legs.”

After completing his challenge, the YouTuber gave a run down of what the effects were like.

He said: “This month, I ran 31 times every single day in October. I ran a total distance of 165 km, which is 102 miles, and unlocked a bunch of running accolades which I’m very happy about.

“I do like trophies and medallions but most importantly it really did help clear up my mind, improve my productivity, boost my creativity. I felt like I returned to normal.

“My brain felt very stagnant for a while and that’s why I started this entire challenge and running every day really helped just clear air out.”

Andrew went on to add: “If you really want to clear out that fog, I think you have to keep running so definitely something I’m gonna keep up, not as intensely as running five kilometers every single day but I think something more reasonable like running every other day or just making sure I leave the house and do stuff and I’m not just sitting at my desk, and that can be much easier said than done.

“Obviously, everyone has their own unique circumstances but I know for me at least running has really helped.”

One viewer took to the YouTube comment section to point out another benefit to running which Andrew hadn’t noticed at first.

They wrote: “Compare your face approximately 1:20 and 14:10. Your skin has improved. 30th September your skin needed fresh air; I hope you guys can see the difference before and after.”

Andrew responded to the comment, adding: “I think you're right! I spotted the same thing when I compared the later shot at 11:00. Seems so much healthier.”
