A couple vlogged their visit to the $4 billion “mega ghost city” and say that it’s the strangest city in the world.
The YouTube couple shared their experience roaming round Myanmar’s capital city.
Naypyitaw has been the country’s capital since 2005 after the country moved it from Yangon.
The giant city is six times the size of New York but bizarrely has a fraction of the population.

Despite the country pumping billions of dollars into construction, it houses just 924,608 residents and has failed to attract a substantial amount of locals or tourists.
For comparison, London is around four and a half times smaller but has a population of roughly 8.98 million.
YouTubers Rob and Jenny filmed their visit to the ghost town, remarking on how quiet the place is.
In the title of their video, they ask, “where is everyone!?” before adding in the description, “Today we explored Myanmar's new capital city: Nay Pyi Taw. This place is considered one of the strangest cities in the world. It's so quiet, we hardly saw anyone!

“There are huge highways with barely a single car on them, including a 20-lane highway that runs past the presidential palace which was EMPTY!”
The pair take a motorcycle ride around the deserted streets, filming the quiet highway and the landmarks.
Towards the end of the day, Rob said: “To be honest if I were giving recommendations for Myanmar I wouldn't really suggest someone come here on the tourist trail unless you've got quite a lot of time because you can see some of the more intriguing parts of the country.”

Viewers shared their own reactions to the ghost city in the YouTube comment section, with one user writing: “You are right, there isn't a whole lot of people up there. Mostly govt buildings. It was a capital created by the govt through centralized planning.
“The govt moved the capital but the people stayed behind in Yangon. It is a weird feeling to see roads where no traffic flows. The opposite is true in Yangon.”
Another person said: “The city could eventually be more populated in the future but imagine the billions spent there considering that most of the people still have no basic services.”

And a third user wrote: “Given how big and empty the city looks... they should film the next fast and furious movie there.. like FOR REAL! 12 lane empty highway..bruhhh.”
