If you want to start a blazing row with your family, there are few better ways than sitting down for a game of Monopoly.
First is the inevitable fight over who gets to be the dog. And before you know it, you've called your brother a liar, flipped the board over and stormed off.
Despite the drama it causes, Monopoly is a classic that's loved around the world.

And it seems some people love the board game more than others, as one couple discovered when they ripped up their carpet.
One Reddit user shared how his in in-laws had ripped up their carpet while doing some home renovations to fins a massive Monopoly board hidden underneath.
Alongside a photo of the games board, the man wrote: "While tearing up their carpet, my in-laws found a giant Monopoly board."

He added: "Trying to convince them to cover it in epoxy and do the rest of the flooring around it how they originally wanted."
The post has since racked up thousands of comments and the response is pretty mixed.
While the bold design feels a bit creepy to us, it was apparently a massive trend at one time.
One person wrote: "Showed this to my wife, and she reminded me that there's a whole neighbourhood near us, built in the mid-50s, that has game boards painted or tiled onto their basement floors.

"Seems to have been a selling point or something."
Another user joked: "Better than finding a Ouija board."
But others were less convinced by the quirky flooring.

"I didn't realize anyone actually liked Monopoly," one commented. "And definitely not enough to do this. And more than once."
And, another said that while the design was cool, the homeowners would likely get sick of it after a while.
They said: "I think it is a super cool find... but as a homeowner, I think the novelty of having a Monopoly board for a room would get old pretty quickly, unless it's a dedicated game room or something.
"I'm sure every new guest you bring to your house would gush about how cool it is, and you just inwardly sigh... yeah... 'cool'.

"While you hate the fact that you've decorated your shelves with oversized monopoly game pieces and stacks of Community Chest and Chance cards to stick with the theme.
"And you don't even really like Monopoly, you're more of a Scrabble person."
