You may have wondered what it’s like to visit space.
But have you ever wondered what it might be like to do so without a spacesuit?
If you think you know what would happen, think again - because the end result is almost unimaginably horrifying.
A video by Insider Tech has revealed the creepy and disturbing way you’re likely to meet your end if you ever venture into space without a spacesuit.

And let’s just say, we wouldn’t recommend it.
From ballooning to twice your size to potentially being burnt by a star, your time in space without a spacesuit is guaranteed to end horribly.
The first thing the video instructs you to do is “don’t hold your breath” - which would definitely have been our first reaction.
“The vacuum of space will pull the air from your body. So if there's air left in your lungs they’ll rupture,” it explains. Good to know.

The video goes on to say: “Oxygen in the rest of your body will also expand. You’ll balloon to up to twice your normal size, but you won’t explode. Your skin is elastic enough to hold you together.”
What a terrifying image.
It added that “any exposed liquid on your body will begin to vaporize, so the surfaces of your tongue and eyes will boil.” Ouch.

The video also explains that you’ll likely pass out in about 15 seconds because, without air in your lungs, the blood being pumped around your body will stop sending oxygen to your brain.
“90 seconds after exposure, you’ll die from asphyxiation."
The process goes from bad to worse, as the video reminds you how cold it is in space - so you'll eventually freeze, which apparently will take 12-26 hours depending on where you are.
That is - unless you find yourself near a star. In that case, the video says: "You'll be burnt to a crisp instead."

If that doesn’t already sound grim enough, bacteria from inside your body will start to eat away at you. Gross.
The video explains: “Gut bacteria will start to eat you from the inside out, but not for long, so you will decompose very slowly.”
While you could be drifting across the universe in a grim state for years, the video jokes that could be lucky enough to be saved by an alien species. A lot more appealing than the gut bacteria situation, we have to say.
