Have you ever wondered what the average dream looks like? Well, a new “unnerving” video has revealed all.

We’ve all had bizarre dreams that leaves us thinking, “what the f***” when we wake up.

Whether it’s a classic suddenly-naked-in-public nightmare or waking with a jolt because you feel like you’re falling off a cliff, we always breathe a sigh of relief in the morning when we realize it wasn’t real.

But if you’ve ever wondered just how normal - or not so normal - your dreams are, one clip uploaded to YouTube by BBC Global finds out.

The video delves into the common things that the average human dreams about when they fall asleep.

These have been collected by the Sleep and Dream Database, which has tens of thousands of reports from all around the world.

The video shares analyzed information from the database in order to reveal what the average human dreams about at night.

In the video, it says: “The most likely food to appear in your dreams is chocolate, the most likely color is white. The most likely location is a street, and the most likely form of transportation is a car.”

It goes on to explain that the person who is most likely to appear in your dreams is your mother and the most likely animal is a dog.

It continues: “ Social interactions will more likely be friendly than aggressive, however the most likely emotion is fear and if a supernatural being appears it's likely to be a monster followed by spirits, ghosts, zombies and aliens.

“The most frequent natural element is water. Sex is less likely to play a role than money, and the drink that you think about most in your sleep is coffee.”

Some viewers were disturbed by the video, taking to social media to share their reactions to the clip.

One user wrote: “Is it just me who found this mildly disturbing, or unnerving.”

Another said: “I had a dream that for NO REASON I pulled my dog's bones out for the “aesthetic” and then she was a dog blob.”

A third person posted: “I had a lucid dream recently but whenever I thought I had woken up it was another dream. I had to wake up three times before actually waking up. Lucid dreams are disturbing.”

And a fourth shared: “The one only thing I remember dreaming about microwaves trying to eat my eyes out.”
