White Dudes for Harris' X account suspended shortly after it raised $4,000,000 for campaign bid

White Dudes for Harris' X account suspended shortly after it raised $4,000,000 for campaign bid

The group known as White Dudes for Harris had their X account suspended after raising millions for the Vice President's campaign bid

An X account called “White Dudes for Harris” was suspended shortly after it raised $4,000,000 for the presidential hopeful’s campaign bid.

Throwing their weight behind Kamala Harris in the US election, the group set up their first fundraising event for the Vice President’s presidential bid.

The first White Dudes for Harris event took place earlier this week with a digital fundraiser that saw appearances from the likes of Mark Hamill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bradley Whitford, Sean Astin and Josh Groban.

During the event for Harris, actor and musician Jeff Bridges gave a speech where he said: “I accepted the invitation and I was brought to the party not so much as being white, and I certainly am, but because I’m a dude, you know, I qualify, man. I’m white, I’m a dude, and I’m for Harris.”

He added: “I’m excited, man. I think the fact that Joe [Biden] has passed the baton so beautifully, I can see her being president. I’m so excited.

“A woman president, man. How exciting! You know, and her championing of women’s rights — for that, and for her stance on the environment, and taking care of our children, you know, all of her leadership on that is wonderful. And something that I can get behind in support.”

The event raised an incredible four million dollars for the campaign but minutes after hitting its target, the account, @dudes4harris, was suspended from the social media platform.

Taking to his personal X account after someone asked why the page was gone, organizer Ross Morales Rocketto simply replied: “Got @elonmusk scared”.

The real reason as to why the account was blocked remains unknown but some people on X agree with Rocketto’s theory that it had something to do with the Tesla boss who bought the platform in 2022.

Taking to the site formerly known as Twitter, one user wrote: “Musk suspended the Twitter account of White Dudes for Harris. I don't think South African billionaires should hinder Americans organizing for democracy.”

Another said: “Mr. Free Speech, Elon, suspended White Dudes for Harris right after they made $4M for Kamala last night.”

A third added: “Elon Musk’s social media platform X suspended the organizing group “White Dudes for Harris” on Monday night, shortly after a fundraising call where almost 200,000 people helped raise $4 million. He's such a small man-child.

Earlier this week, the tech mogul took to X himself to share his own theories on electoral interference, writing: “Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?”

In response to the recent suspension of the account supporting Harris, one user replied to Musk with: “twitter SUSPENDED the white dudes for harris account after it raised $4M for kamala harris. Election interference?”

The @dudes4harris account has since been mysteriously reinstated on X but there is still no answer as to why it was removed in the first place.
