X suspends journalist after she speaks out on bizarre conspiracy theory that Elon Musk's fan account was Musk himself

X suspends journalist after she speaks out on bizarre conspiracy theory that Elon Musk's fan account was Musk himself

The Adrian Dittmann saga continues

Something fishy is going on in the world of X, and if you've been spending any time on the social media platform recently, we're sure you'll have heard the name Adrian Dittmann.

They say everyone has an identical twin in terms of looks, but can you have an actual soundalike?

Dittmann has recently gone viral for his uncanny likeness to Elon Musk's distinctive voice, sparking several weird and wonderful theories.

Is Dittmann an artificial intelligence program created by Musk to show us the future, is the Dittmann account just Musk himself pranking us all?

If so, is it the ultimate ego massage?

With the Dittmann account’s posts making it sometimes sound like the No.1 Musk fan, it didn't take long for people to theorize that it's just him blowing smoke up his backside.

Dittmann and Musk have chatted in several X spaces, with the former simply saying that he sounds like the world's richest man because he's moved around the place but currently lives in Oceania.

Musk's soundalike refused to reveal more about his location amid fears someone would try and track him down, which is exactly what someone did.

Writing for a UK outlet called The Spectator, Jacqueline Sweet claimed that the Dittmann X account belongs to an actual person in Fiji who has no connection to Musk. Sweet set out to prove that Dittmann is a completely separate person and not some Musk sock account.

Working with Swiss hacker Maia arson crimew and journalist Ryan Fae, Sweet tracked down the real Adrian Dittmann to Fiji.

In her article, she writes: "X’s Dittmann has written in German on the account, and referred to himself as German and European several times. The profile picture of Adrian Dittmann on X also resembles Fiji’s Adrian Dittmann, just put through an AI filter or two."

She says that while a recent lawsuit confirmed Musk has run at least two alt accounts in the past, Adrian Dittmann isn't one of them.

After Sweet posted her article, she claimed she’s been kicked off X.

The Spectator World's managing editor Matt McDonald took to X to confirm Sweet's account has been suspended for 30 days, saying her article has been given a 'violent or misleading content' warning label. Her last post read: "People are so committed to believing the Elon is Adrian thing."

Maia arson crimew and Fae also say they've been suspended, while it's currently impossible to post links to the article or share it via DM.

I think Elon is mad I ruined his stupid game of laughing at his critics who believe Adrian Dittmann is his alt, and took his toys and went home. Links to The Spectator story are blocked now on X, and no one can send it in a DM. I have a 30 day ban for "doxing," which I didn't do.

Things only get stranger thanks to Musk himself. Hours after Sweet's article went live, Musk posted: "I am Adrian Dittmann. It’s time the world knew."

Taking to X rival Bluesky, Sweet says she was suspended for doxxing Dittmann but defended her actions and added: "I think Elon is mad I ruined his stupid game of laughing at his critics who believe Adrian Dittmann is his alt, and took his toys and went home."

It seems that Musk is joking about the whole thing, although we don't know what to believe when it comes to the sordid saga of Adrian Dittmann.
