President Donald Trump’s website has begun to sell a controversial item that could seriously violate the US constitution.
Members of the public have raised awareness after noticing the item that is available to purchase from the Donald Trump store.
After beginning his second term in the Oval Office earlier this year, Trump’s presidency also marks his last as he will not be allowed to run for re-election when his time is up in 2028.

This is because the 22nd amendment of the constitution prevents any individual from seeking a third term.
However, a little thing like the US constitution doesn’t appear to be putting Trump off from teasing the idea of a third go at presidency.
And US representative Andy Ogles is calling for the constitution’s rule on third terms to be changed.

Instead, Ogles has expressed that the law should read as follows: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times, nor be elected to any additional term after being elected to two consecutive terms, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”
Because there was a gap between Trump’s first and second term, this would mean that he technically could run again in 2028 if this rule comes into effect.
And a new item in the president’s store appears to suggest that Trump could be onboard with the idea.
Priced at $50, you can now purchase a ‘Trump 2028’ hat and t-shirt.

In the description, it reads: “The future looks bright! Rewrite the rules with the Trump 2028 high crown hat. Fully embroidered with a snap closure in the back, this will become your new go-to hat.”
Taking to social media, one user called the merch ‘disgusting’, while on X, formerly Twitter, another added: “He really thinks he can violate the constitution and the two term limit.. what a joke.”
LADbible Group has reached out to the White House for a comment.

According to Reuters, the idea of a third term doesn’t seem to be popular, saying: “Three-quarters of respondents said Trump should not run for a third term in office — a path Trump has said he would like to pursue, though the U.S. Constitution bars him from doing so.
“A majority of Republican respondents — 53% — said Trump should not seek a third term.”
