Senior Trump officials have revealed their true thoughts of Elon Musk and it is pretty brutal.
Since the start of the year with Trump’s return to the Oval Office, Musk has found himself at the center stage of government.
With his appointment as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, the billionaire has been busy hacking away at the federal budget in order to cut back on federal spending.

This has been achieved so far mostly through canceling contracts and making mass layoffs.
Musk has been a controversial figure of Trump’s administration, partly due to the fact that he is not an elected official.
This has led to protests and boycotts of Tesla, with even acts of vandalism being reported at some of the EV firm’s showrooms.

Now, according to a report by the Daily Mail, other officials in government aren’t too pleased with Musk either.
The report claims that Trump administration officials have even nicknamed the Tesla boss ‘crazy Uncle Elon’, and others have joked that he should take a drug test.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, one senior official said: “I have been in the same room with Elon, and he always tries to be funny. And he's not funny. Like, at all.
“He makes these jokes and little asides and smiles and then looks almost hurt if you don't lap up his humor.”

The official went on to say: “I keep using the word ‘annoying’, a lot of people who have to deal with him do. But the word doesn't do the situation justice.
“Elon just thinks he's smarter than everyone else in the room and acts like it, even when it's clear he doesn't know what he's talking about.”

Another official said to the magazine: “Talking to the guy is sometimes like listening to really rusty nails on a chalkboard. He's just the most irritating person I've ever had to deal with, and that is saying something.”

Insiders revealed to Rolling Stone that Musk has irritated Trump officials so much that some aides have walked out of meetings ‘and earnestly asked one another if they thought Musk was high’.
A lawyer for Musk confirmed to the magazine that the SpaceX CEO was ‘regularly and randomly drug-tested at SpaceX and has never failed a test’.
Given Musk’s close friendship with Trump, it doesn’t seem like he will be taking a step back from his role in government anytime soon.
