There's an ongoing war of the words between Elon Musk and Mike Myers, with the world's richest man and the Emmy Award-winning actor continuing to clash over Canada. Myers once again stands up to Musk and proudly declares, "Canada is not for sale."
Back in March 2025, Myers delivered a 'brutal' take on Elon Musk, brandishing a chainsaw, mocking President Trump's meeting with Vodomyr Zelensky, and ridiculing the many firings that the Department of Government Efficiency has been dishing out.
Musk made his feelings clear and branded the skit 'unfunny', but this was just the start of the saga. Myers has continued playing the tech mogul on SNL, even throwing in a bit of his iconic Dr. Evil character from Austin Powers.

It seems that Myers has taken particular issue with Musk and the current state of US politics, especially when it comes to Canada. The first time he played Musk on the series, the Shrek actor proudly wore a "Canada is not for sale" t-shirt. This was amid the tariff chaos, where many accused the POTUS of levying tariffs on Canada as an attempt to force it into becoming part of the USA.
Now, Myers has doubled down on his defiance in an interview with The New York Times, explaining why he's ready to 'defend' the Great White North. Myers explained he wore the "Canada is not for sale" tee and mouthed 'elbows up' into the camera because, "I got angrier and angrier.”
It comes in response to Trump referring to Canada as the 51st State and a bizarre statement from Musk, where he claimed that Canada isn't a real country. Myers was triggered by graffiti he apparently saw in Winnipeg, which read: "There’s no greater pain than being betrayed by a friend."

Explaining why he felt the need to act, the star continued: "What happened came from my ankles and from my brain and from my heart, and it was not about me — it was about my country.
"I wanted to send a message home to say that I’m with you, you know."
The expat admitted: "No one is more Canadian than a person who no longer lives in Canada.

“What’s happened has really hurt our feelings. We love America. We love you guys. We don’t understand what this madness is.”
He's continued taking on the current administration, since starring in an ad for the Liberal Party where he wore a 'Never 51' jersey.
As for Musk, he sees his current entrenchment in American politics as a potential problem: "To the extent that Elon Musk is involved in our democratic government, it goes against how I feel as a Canadian. We don’t have a distrust of the government. We have a belief in good government.”
In terms of his impressions, Myers thinks comedy is the way forward: "Fascism doesn’t like to be ridiculed; it likes to be feared. Satire is an important tool in the toolbox to say that this is not normal — that the cuts he’s making are not normal."

Musk appeared on SNL back in 2021 and delivered the opening monologue, although many can't believe this is the same person. After he claimed that Canada is not a real country, 376,994 Canadians signed a petition asking to revoke his dual citizenship.
