Haliey "Hawk Tuah Girl" Welch is ending 2024 back in the headlines, but in the aftermath of trying to get into the cryptocurrency industry with her $HAWK memecoin, it might not be the attention she wants.
Getting her viral start in June 2024, Welch found herself thrust into the limelight with an unexpected vox pop on the Tim & Dee TV YouTube channel and making a name for herself with her signature catchphrase: "You gotta give 'em that 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thang."
While the TikTok culture means 15 minutes of fame is pretty much 15 seconds of fame these days, Welch made the most of her newfound fame and quickly started branching out into everything from merch to a podcast, an AI-powered dating app to crypto.

Unfortunately for Welch, the latter proved to be a step too far. With Welch accused of $HAWK being a 'pump and dump' crypto scam, the creator went pretty quiet during an X space where the team behind her memecoin tried to defend themselves. In an unexpectedly hilarious moment, Welch said, "Anyhoo, I’m going to go to bed, and I’ll see you guys tomorrow," then abruptly left the space.
Even though "spit on that thang" used to be Hawk Tuah Girl's catchphrase, it seems "anyhoo, I'm going to go to bed" is her new one.

Posting on TikTok, @bellegomoo made a video with Welch's X space audio and suggested the creator could always go into voice acting. As the TikTok says, "Tell me this wouldn't be the cutest animated squirrel."
We could definitely imagine Welch voicing Rocky the Squirrel in a remake of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Others in the comments agreed, as one wrote another added: "Someone said she sounded like a kid signing off Xbox 😭."
A third joked: "Nah a little cartoon birdie Squawk Tuah."

Welch has actually broken her silence on the whole debacle, and although she's not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, she took to X to explain her side of the story: "I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community."
Vowing to work with lawyers, Welch added: "I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter.

Welch's regular Talk Tuah podcast has been MIA since the whole situation kicked off, while the likes of streamer Asmongold have claimed that Welch is 'finished'. While crypto clearly wasn't her thing, a career as a voice artist could be Hawk Tuah Girl's next diversification.
