Hacker group 'Anonymous' have compared election numbers from 2020 and 2024.
The polls are closed, the votes have (mostly) been counted, and it's official that Donald Trump is taking a second term to become the 47th President of the United States. Although it looked like it would come down to a couple of swing states like Georgia and Pennsylvania, Trump secured victory with 301 electoral votes compared to the 270 needed. The maps show that the Republican Party flipped the table on the Democrats by pulling a reverse on Joe Biden's 306 electoral votes snagged in 2020.
While some can't believe that Trump is back in office, hacking group Anonymous claims that his win might've been secured due to an anomaly of missing votes. This comes after X owner Elon Musk, who claimed (seemingly without evidence) that Republicans were turning out in 'record numbers' to vote Trump back into office.

Posting on X, Anonymous wrote: "Something doesn't add up. In 2020 Biden had 81 Million votes, Trump had 74 Million votes. In 2024 Harris got 66 Million votes, Trump got 71 million votes. "15 Million Democrats decided to sit this one out? 3 Million MAGA decided to sit this one out? No f***ing way."
One supporter agreed: "It doesn't feel right. Every Dem I knew was voting. Republicans I know had crossed over to vote Dem. Something is wrong."
Another added: "I'm not yet ready to jump onto the conspiracy theory bandwagon that this election was rigged by Trump/Russia/China/Israel or whoever. I need to see some real evidence before jumping to that conclusion. But my mind is open should evidence come along."

Others argued in the other direction, with someone concluding: "Joe didn’t get 81 million votes. Elon spent considerable money to ensure a safe ballot count. Now you see why Trump said 2020 was stolen. They created millions of votes in 2020, but in 2024 they didn’t get away with the steal LFG."
Anonymous has been slapped with its own ironic Community Note, that says around 15 million votes still haven't been counted.
As reported by ABC News, these uncounted votes point to poor turnout for the Democrats. The site says predictions of final turnout look to be around 152 million votes, which is a drop from the 158 million from 2020 and represents around 61% of eligible voters compared to the 66% who voted in the last election.

States are expected to release the full data over the next few months, but by the looks of it, the Democrats weren't turning out in those key battleground states.
Whether it's the late exit of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris having to play catchup, or whether it's because Trump had a more aggressive marketing campaign, the numbers are speaking for themselves. It wasn't quite the close race we'd been warned about, and with Trump winning by a landslide, we've got four more years of 'The Donald.'
