By now, we all know not to mess with Anonymous, as the group of internet 'hacktivists' have done some pretty wild things over the years. After rising from the depths of 4chan in 2003, Anonymous is known for its V for Vendetta-inspired masks and launching cyber attacks on the likes of the Church of Scientology, the Tunisian government, and even threatening to take down Facebook.
Time magazine once called Anonymous one of the "100 most influential people" in the world, and while it's largely gone to ground in the aftermath of the Black Lives Matter protests, there's been a recent resurgence.
Anonymous has warned about the potential powers of Elon Musk and Donald Trump, and while the tech billionaire has laughed off the group's threats, others have reminded us it's not an organization to be messed with.

Now, Anonymous has left an ominous message on X, warning that something big could be coming on April 12. Anonymous' tagline of, "We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us," rings true now more than ever, and in the comments, people are trying to decipher what could be coming.
Posting to its 5.2 million followers, Anonymous wrote: " What’s going on April 12, 2025?"

Many think this is a veiled reference to a bizarre incident involving The Simpsons and President Trump. There's been a recent uptick in posts about the long-running animation 'predicting' Trump's death, with one video showing him in a coffin, surrounded by political figures, and bearing the date April 12, 2025.
This scene has never appeared in the show, following in the footsteps of a similar trend in the aftermath of his Pennsylvania shooting. Back then, a scene that featured a discolored version of the POTUS lying in a coffin included the writing, "R.I.P Donald Trump 1946–2024."
In the end, The Simpsons producer Matt Selman had to speak out and told Reuters: "The image of Donald Trump in a coffin never appeared on The Simpsons. It is doctored...Sadly it is all too easy to create fake Simpsons ‘predictions’ like these for the purpose of misleading people."
While Anonymous surely isn’t making a threat on Trump’s life, the comment section shows that many believe it's alluding to Trump's potential death.

One account said, "Ask the Simpsons...," while another added, "Please be prophetic, PLEASE BE PROPHETIC! 🤡☠️🪦."
Someone else wrote: "They've been so eerily accurate so far in their predictions of the future. JCPenney going out of business, the Lady Gaga Super Bowl performance, him coming down the escalator, and many more. So will their prediction Street continue?"
That response was hit with its own community note confirming that the April 12 foreshadowing isn't from an actual episode.
Anonymous could be planning another cyberattack, and with its last video proving there's no love lost for Musk and Trump. Could we be about to get some big reveal about their private lives or takedown of powers? With Anonymous previously looking like it was able to break into Bank of America emails and hack Russian TV channels, we'll be keeping our eye on April 12 to see if the hactivists have anything planned.
