A giant penis has been spotted on top of a school roof in Berlin.

Humans have had an odd obsession with drawing phallic shapes. You'll find them just about anywhere in the world and throughout history, from ancient Roman murals in Pompeii to scribbles on school desks and wall graffiti.

And now, thanks to technology, these oversized works of 'art' can be seen from space. Our satellites aboard the International Space Station are so good, you can zoom in on the tiniest of details.

According to the Geelong Advertiser, a rather sizeable phallic drawing was carved into the dry lake bed in Bellarine, a rural part of the state of Victoria. It’s so large that Google Maps picked it up, where it was labelled the 'Aussie Weiner.' Aliens are certainly judging us now...

Now, a 20-metre-long penis was seemingly painted on a school roof in Germany.

For comparison, the average erect penis measures 13cm long - making this sketch 161 times larger than any human penis ever recorded.

Google Maps picked up the indecent drawing on top of the Waldorf School in the Kreuzberg district in Berlin.

According to satellite images, the penis appeared sometime between March and July 2022.

At some point, school authorities attempted to cover it up by painting over the edges, but their efforts weren’t exactly subtle. So, the general shape and size are still very recognisable.

Whether this rooftop drawing was the result of pranksters or an anonymous street artist hasn't been confirmed.

The German school follows the Waldorf education model, developed by Rudolf Steiner in the early 1900s, which blends artistic and physical activities with academic learning.

This isn’t the first time a phallic drawing has made its way onto satellite images.

In the UK, former students at Yarm School, in Stockton - a prestigious private institution - reportedly drew a giant penis on the school’s roof, large enough to be spotted on Google Earth. Though, this effort was found to be the handiwork of the school's former pupils.

On a more serious note, strange sights have been captured while people have browsed Google Earth.

Recently, a mysterious giant door in Antarctica sparked curiosity on internet forum on Reddit, while unsettling messages were identified near a Union Pacific railroad yard in Los Angeles.

The words 'HELP' and 'TRAFICO' are clearly visible from above, leaving many to wonder whether they are a distress signal related to local displacement or even human trafficking. Either way, it’s an eerie message to stumble upon from space.
