Horrifying health effects after man drank 7 litres of soda every single day for 10 years

He was binging a soda case every day

We all know that too much sugar is bad for your health, but one man took it to the extreme by drinking seven litres of soda every single day for 10 years.

YouTuber Chubbyemu shared the story of a man referred to as BA, a 48-year-old father who had a bad habit of binging soda drinks.

At 30 years old, BA got an office job that would stock 'unlimited soda for employees to drink.'

However, this availability would soon become a root problem in BA's life and health.

Over the years, BA's soda intake increased dramatically. He started noticing that empty cans were piling up on his desk every day, despite cleaning them up the day before.

Every morning he was chugging soda to quench his thirst but also found himself urinating considerably more than he was drinking.

He began experiencing brain fog, slurred speech and stomach pains before he soon woke up in a hospital bed.

"BA had had a diabetic coma," Chubbyemu explained. "His blood sugar had been sky high for at least the last three months and it was high in the hospital despite not eating anything before he finally woke up."

But even though he was dismissed, his habits only took a turn for the worse. BA started buying bulk soda cans in the supermarket and would 'burn an entire case in a single day.'

When he ended up back in the hospital after losing feeling in his muscles, doctors found records of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.

The doctors also found that BA's kidneys were shutting down.

"Wastes that are supposed to be filtered out by the kidneys are now detectable in high amounts in his blood," the YouTuber explained.

"The tests showed BA's muscles have been damaged and they are spilling their contents out."

This was due to the extremely, life-threateningly low levels of potassium in BA's blood which also explained his muscle weakness, as the signals for contraction and relaxation weren’t functioning properly anymore.

"It can explain why his muscle is breaking down and dissolving into his blood," Chubbyemu said.

BA's heart was struggling also as potassium has an important role in heart muscle contraction.

Even with all this, BA continued to drink soda to help with his thirst, headaches and dry mouth.

Fortunately for BA, he was one of the lucky ones. After his wife stopped bringing him soda in the hospital and BA started cutting back on it himself, he remarkably managed to make a full recovery.

"His blood potassium levels started to normalise," Chubbyemu described. "His kidney function started to return to normal and his muscle weakness went away because the body is able to heal itself."

People have been reacting with shock to BA's story.

"I am seriously surprised he went 10 years without any major issues," the first user replied.

"7 liters every day for at least a decade? It's actually amazing that it took that long before his body finally failed. Amazing how resilient the human body is," another user commented.

"Crazy how a habit can ramp up to that level of excess for some people. 7 litres is an unthinkable volume for most of us to contemplate," someone else pointed out.
