A YouTuber takes on a sleep paralysis horror game - so you don’t have to.
If you've ever suffered from sleep paralysis, you’ll know exactly how terrifying it is to be awake but completely unable to move.
Even if you haven't, it's a pretty scary concept.

Essentially, the sleep disorder describes a feeling of being conscious but unable to actually move.
Sleep paralysis tends to happen in between sleep and waking up and usually lasts for a few seconds or even a few minutes.
It leaves people temporarily trapped in a state where they’re aware of their surroundings but can’t move a muscle.
More terrifyingly, some individuals have reported seeing strange, shadowy figures of people whilst it's happening - or even hallucinated full-fledged figures like witches.

The disorder has also been linked to insomnia, PTSD, irregular sleeping patterns, or a family history of sleep paralysis.
Now, someone has decided to turn the nightmare into a horror game.
'While Sleeping' is essentially a sleep paralysis simulator designed to recreate the absolute horror of being trapped in your own body while sinister things move around you.

And because some of us (understandably) would rather not experience that firsthand, YouTuber DazGames decided to play it so the rest of us don’t have to.
In the game, players can only move their heads, leaving them utterly helpless as dark figures flicker past the bed, loom near the pillow and creep in the shadows. Check it out below - just don't watch it before bed!
At one point, a ghostly figure slinks into the room, making the streamer scream. Probably the worst part was when a demon-faced woman with glowing white eyes and a sinister grin appeared by the bedside.

Viewers have been sharing how freaked out they go after watching the video.
"Is it just me or did the clock ticking in the background add so much to the horror effect of the game, like it made me feel so tense and paranoid," the top user wrote.
Someone who seemingly understands the horror first-hand commented: "I get this game for free once a week".
Another confirmed the game's accuracy: "This game is so accurate to real life as someone who deals with serious sleep paralysis with sinister figures appearing quite often this game is quite similar."

To help prevent sleep paralysis, health experts suggest sticking to a solid sleep routine - aiming for seven to nine hours of sleep a night, going to bed and waking up at the same time every day and getting regular exercise. Also, according to the NHS, try not to sleep on your back as this can make sleep paralysis more likely.
