Since its launch in November 2020, Sony has outdone itself when it comes to the user experience for PlayStation 5.
Speedy loading times, stunning game graphics and, of course, being able to access multiple features on your console without having to close down your game every time.
Whether you know your PS5 inside out or just someone who has an afterwork habit of jumping straight on the game after work, there's a tool every PS5 owner needs to know about.

Sony has smoothly integrated PS5 games with the console in its UI design, bringing in personalised completion times and instant mission hopping.
Activity cards are a great way to quickly access parts of a single-player campaign game without opening up a new app or setting. It's a massive time-saver and an all-around great gaming companion.
In games like Horizon Forbidden West, players can easily switch to other missions, activities, and side quests that are available.

As you progress through PS5 games, the cards change to reflect your journey.
The cards can even teleport players to different parts of the game. For example, Spider-Man: Miles Morales can instantly teleport Spidey to a particular moment in the game.
If you find a percentage of in-game collectibles, the Activity Cards will update to show how many more you need to collect.
Hands down, this is a brilliant feature from Sony for those who want to keep track of their time and manage their progress.

In games like The Last of Us: Part I, players can track the estimated time remaining on each chapter, based on their personal playstyle.
Furthermore, trophy hunters can easily track their trophy progress as well as pin trophies they want to keep an eye on.
PlayStation users can access Activity Cards by hovering over a game’s icon on the Home menu once it's loaded up. Then, by pressing the down button, players will be able to view the on-screen card prompts.

The tool has been praised for being under-rated and easy to use, according to one Reddit thread.
One PS5 owner said: 'Using the Activity Card to launch yourself into an unloaded game vastly speeds up the time spent waiting.'
Another gamer commented: 'Activity cards are criminally underrated, probably the best new OS feature.'
However, some players have noticed that Activity Cards are only as useful as game developers make them. Unfortunately, not all developers choose to integrate their games with Sony, which can leave the feature feeling 'pointless' for the most part.
