Steam quietly added 8 free games you can download now to keep busy this week

Get them while they're hot

Steam is offering a host of new games you can download for free right now.

Gamers are eating well, as Steam has just quietly added eight free games that fans can download for absolutely nothing.

Valve's digital storefront continues to dominate, and with Steam known for regularly giving us free downloads, the week of February 3 is no exception.

While it's not quite up there with Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Last of Us, there's an impressive crop of freebies to download. After all, what's better than getting something for free?

As shared by the Free Steam Games X account, Arena of Faith, Toaster Arena, Spell of Infinity, Moldbreaker: Rise of the Loaf, ReSpaced, King Arthur: Legends Rise, PIO, and Eva's Hook are all up for grabs. It's true that none of them are exactly considered AAA games, but we're sure there's still something interesting you can find buried in the bunch.

Arena of Faith is a 5v5 MOBA that was previously popular on mobile but has found a new home on Steam.

We're also intrigued by Moldbreaker: Rise of the Loaf, where you take on the role of Bradley the Breadapus - a platypus made out of waffles. You have to navigate a world made out of bread in a title that's inspired by some beloved '90s platformers.

King Arthur: Legends Rise is a turn-based RPG (unsurprisingly) inspired by the legendary tales where you'll "recruit loyal knights, explore a vast medieval fantasy world, and restore the kingdom of Camelot to its former glory."

Eva's Hook looks like the most mysterious, placing you in the scantily-clad boots of the titular Eva and tasking players with using a grappling hook to escape an icy prison in this 2.5D platformer.

All eight can currently be downloaded on Steam, but grab them while you can. Steam is known for frequently mixing up its free catalog, so you don't want to miss out on any of these.

Of course, Steam has plenty of free-to-play titles that more of you will likely have heard of and can be added to your collection. Big hitters include the likes of Apex Legends, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Destiny 2.

In other Steam news, it's helping an underrated game get the attention fans believe it deserves. Posting on BlueSky Circana's Mat Piscatella explained how Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is doing numbers since hitting Windows PC via Steam.

The proposed second part of an FF7 remake trilogy was previously shackled to PlayStation 5 exclusivity, but thanks to a January 23 release, it's now soaring. Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth's PC port peaked at 40,564 concurrent players, marking the biggest PC release of Final Fantasy games.

According to Piscatella, Rebirth was the best-selling game in the US market for the week ending January 25, with the FFVII: Remake & Rebirth Twin Pack coming in third.

For those who've splashed out on a Steam Deck, there's no better time to check out what you might be missing on Steam.
