You might think that after years of waiting for a glimpse of Grand Theft Auto 6, the series' most diehard fans might have learned a lesson to zen out a bit and ease up on speculating about the game.
Well, that doesn't seem to be happening - just a couple of months on from that sensationally popular trailer, speculation is mounting again that we're due our next dose of information about the game, which will come out sometime in 2025.
The series' publisher, Take Two, has an earnings call this week, on February 8, where it gives crucial information to its shareholders and investors.
A thread on Reddit is generating plenty of discussion about the possibility that this earnings call will bring a bit more clarification on the release date for the game.

The post itself only argues that the call might confirm whether the game is on track for its 2025 estimate, something that will be made clear by its estimated timeline for fiscal earnings.
However, there are some who are hopeful that the call will narrow things down to a specific quarter of the financial year in question - namely, Q1 2025.
The post itself clarifies, handily, that "their fiscal 2025 begins on April 1, 2024 and ends March 31, 2025" - with the argument being that a date in the quarter immediately after that window is, therefore, the most likely.
As the most popular comment under the post states: "I think the deadline is spring 2025 and that Take-Two will reaffirm their projections for Q1 2025."

It's not impossible that they're right, by any stretch, but that doesn't mean less optimistic comments are wrong, either.
After all, others are pointing out that by having that trailer end with a 2025 release window, Rockstar has left itself plenty of flexibility to push the game back by six months if it needs to, without ever having to publicly acknowledge this by changing a more precise release date.
All of this is relatively logical and grounded, compared to the crazy conspiracy theories that did the rounds routinely about GTA 6 before Rockstar finally admitted it was working on the game - long before it released the first trailer.

Still, there's no real guarantees, and that earnings call could just as easily come and go without any really concrete information emerging from it.
